I see they do know something about UAB football:

I hate how that’s as a theme. We could never break through to the Top 25 or get votes because we’d lose to a Rice or terrible CUSA team. I hope we kill rice this year

Yeah, if it weren't for that terrible WTF loss against a then terrible Coastal Carolina team (our 2nd game/first away game always gave us fits), we would have been a Top 25 team leading up to the Texas A&M game. I think we were ranked 25 in the Coaches Poll at that point but only receiving votes in the AP.
But yeah, it's a shame we never cracked the AP Top 25 in the Bill Clark Era.

That actually wasn’t a terrible article. It seems they did at least a modicum of research into it. Color me shocked.

CFN used to do a phenomenal job....then it seemed like they fell off a little and I haven't paid attention to them in quite some time.
They used to have a really good write up (game summary, predictions, etc) on about Wednesday before every game

It was fair. I agree, they did research unlike the folks predicting 4 wins or less that have no clue who is on our roster.

I can appreciate any outside take that is based off of some sort of research. The writeup and reasoning was all valid in my opinion. I honestly believe our season is going to hinge on the play of Zeno and the O-line. If both of those perform above expectations, I think we can approach double digit wins. If both of those are average, our record will be average. I like a lot of what we've done this offseason, I just believe it's going to take month or so to start coming together.

I honestly can't argue with those that predict 4 wins. I don't believe that's an unreasonable take, especially from the outside. The way I see it is we have one guaranteed win, one guaranteed loss, and ten games that could go either way, with several of those toss up games being close to 50/50 in my mind.

It was a fair and reasonable preview. Season hinges on the play of QB and OL. I think they are undervaluing our defense but how good our D is probably hinges on how much help they get from the offense.

I see 9 wins as best case, 4 wins as worst case. Lots of 50-50s on the schedule.

I would rather be painted with 4 wins and get 7 then painted with 7 wins and only get 4. Underdog has always suited us well

No one has seen what we look like under Dilfer when we're playing for real. All of these articles are entertaining guesswork, silly season fodder.

It wouldn't surprise me that more & more places start to use ChatGPT for their write ups since they no longer have writers for the non top 25 teams. I think it's a fair write up given we've a new coach in a new league w/ some major players gone so lots of unknowns.

It was actually a bit better than I expected it to be.

The only thing I felt they were a little light on was the DL. I think the Blazers are going to be nasty up front.

I think our entire defense will be nasty. We have some dawgs.

The one thing that seems safe to predict is no one will have solid footage of us for preparation. Not sure how much that will help, but it's something.
