UNLV adds no value to any P5 conferences. They suck so they are stuck where they are at. UNR is much more valuable than UNLV.

I believe it. Also that even with the sinking ship as it appears, if PAC thought very lowly of many of the B12 schools, even someone like Iowa State, no much if anything may have changed regarding that snobbery.

Only the PAC knows who it received applications from after the Texas-OU SEC announcement. I suspect they may have received apps from many, and maybe all of the remainders. That nothing was done, with B12 hurting, THEN after USC-UCLA bolted? There are problems in that conference out there.

The PAC wouldn’t even take an Oklahoma-Oklahoma State package in 2011.

It’s not clear that the PAC really ever valued anybody in the Big 12 except for Texas. Even Oklahoma almost seemed to be considered the cost of getting Texas.

And actually even Texas got rejected by the PAC around 1990, although the PAC finally saw their value 20 years later.

It’s pretty pathetic to go from that mindset to looking at schools like SDSU, SMU, UNLV and God knows who else.

SDSU to the PAC is pretty much a "done deal." Agreement was made months ago. Just waiting until the media deal is finalized before the announcement is made.

I find it interesting how everybody who claims to have a “source” always has positive news for their school.

I could see UNLV as part of a larger B12 expansion.

Why would that work?

The B12 already has UCF (Orlando-Disney), adding UNLV would give the B12 the top 2 tourist destinations B12 country.

That plus SDSU (which would be a part of that expansion) gives the B12 3 destination cities for games/fans.

And... in NIL era, there is no reason UNLV shouldn't be able to attract top recruits in both major sports.

If they do pod scheduling of some type, you have SDSU, UNLV, BYU and TCU (with its west-coast student body) who can play together and have decent travel for home and home

Interesting idea maybe you can throw in Fresno St and USF too, then you got a nice little Western pocket and a nice little Eastern pocket

West
SDSU, FresnoSt, UNLV, BYU

East
WV, Cincy, UCF, USF

North
ISU, KSU, Kan, OkSt

South
TT, TCU, Bay, Hou

UNLV works for the Big 12 because it'd the Island Of Misfit Toys league anyway.

The league is a mix of a few flagship schools, large city schools, religious universities and rural univervisities.

Adding UNLV wouldnt drag down the image of the league very much because the league has no identity anyway.

UNLV could work for Yormark as it feels splashy
