The DePaul loss at Georgetown was rough on the Demons' slim chances of getting on a bit of a run and somehow sneaking into the NIT.

Congrats to GU for the win.

SIU sweeps the Racers. Will the teams meet in St. Louis for Arch Madness? Possibly. The way the MVC is shaping up this year, there's probably 7 or 8 teams that could get the automatic bid. Is anyone good enough to win 3 or 4 games in a row? Time will tell.

I'd bet you all my money someone will be good enough to win 3-4 games during Arch Madness.

Hahaha, C2...good catch! I did word that rather awkwardly, didn't I? What I meant to emulate is that the league is so competitive this year that I can't figure out who will get the auto bid. The way some of these regular season conference races are playing out at the moment, the Missouri Valley isn't the only league in this situation.

Forget everything that happened this men's basketball season. Who they beat is who you would have expected they would beat.

Patrick Ewing has Georgetown clicking on all cylinders.

I smell another contract extension!

This board's favorite school, Chicago State, leads Stanford 41-35 with 18:25 left. Chicago State was ahead by 7 at halftime.

There may be two more polar opposite schools in Division I, but you would be hard pressed to find them.

Texas A&M 79
Auburn 63

I think any team this year that goes undefeated at home deserves a #1 seed.

Not Houston.
Not Gonzaga.
Not Kansas.
Not Purdue.
Not UConn.

Anybody?

Tournament isn’t played at home. Only 3 teams are undefeated away from home. It is not a coincidence that they rank 1, 2, and 3 in this weeks AP poll. If anyone deserves a 1 seed it’s these three juggernauts.

Edit: actually it’s even more exclusive because #2 lost twice on a neutral site. They’re still deserving of a 1 seed but it just further highlights how impressive of a feat it is to go undefeated away from home.

Rhode Island 75
Dayton 70

Dayton, VCU, and Saint Louis are the only A10 schools in the KP top 100. Nobody is in that top 65. When NET updates, I expect none of them will be in the top 70. VCU and SLU have some climbing to do.

For comparison with other mid-major conferences, MWC has five teams in KP top 50, six in the top 100. WCC has two in the top 50, five in the top 100. Same for the AAC. CUSA’s other two top 100 teams might have a higher metric ceiling than VCU and SLU.

For now, UCLA has the longest home-court winning streak. I think it's at 19 or 20. Your proposal is tempting to subscribe to, but I'd have to say 'no'. UMass-Lowell is unbeaten at home, but the Riverhawks lost at Maine last night, 75-70.

Fordham won by 11 at St. Bonaventure Wednesday night to improve to 16-4. Given Fordham's history in the A-10, this would seem like great news for the Rams to snag some at-large attention, but when the entire conference seems to be down compared to previous years, the focus on the Rams' success is getting drowned out. And yes, I realize Fordham's non-conference schedule is a baker's delight (lots of cupcakes).

For teams heading in opposite directions, Hartford creamed D-1 newcomers Stonehill, 73-56. The Hawks, like Chicago State, are now 5-17 on the season. UH and CSU play each other twice between now and the end of the season. Is this Hartford's last year in D-1 before they rachet down their athletic programs?

Bradley tried very hard to make this list today, but the Braves overcame heavy underdogs Illinois State in Peoria last night, 79-75 in overtime. Bradley trailed by 11 with 8 minutes to go. I've seen girl scouts selling cookies be more aggressive than BU looked for long stretches of Wednesday night's game.

This game is notable because an Uber Eats driver showed up to deliver McDonalds to someone and somehow walked on the court during the game.

That commentary is great!

Turns out it was a social media prank. And it worked beautifully, but definitely went too far.

Stanford 72 Chicago State 65.

Ah,man. If Chicago State had won the game, that result should have been pinned to the top of CSNBBS for at least a month.

Yeah, that had to be an inside prank. There's no way a Door Dash/Uber Eats driver would be able to sneak into the building (with security at the doors) and sneak down to court level.

Funny stuff.

RE: Laughable week 12 college basketball
Long Island beat Sacred Heart 74-71. Seems pretty ordinary, but LIU is last in the NET at 363 and 0-18 in NET countable wins. LIU did have wins versus SUNY-Purchase and Mount St Vincent.

Sacred Heart looks much better with a 10-11 record, but with a record near .500, their NET is shockingly low at 320, so it isn’t a huge upset in that sense-only 43 spots apart.

Aside from one other NEC team, only 1 team with 10 wins is even below 217.
