Injuries have killed his career thus far. Still a ton of potential. Hopefully he's not another Greg Oden.

Edit: I don't think players do themselves any favors by sitting out. Athletes have to stay in game shape. Always better to play (vs sit). I'm afraid his year (not) here hurt him.

Good. Trade the guy so he can actually play.

I don't follow NBA. So your comments tell me he's currently NOT injured? Bring that dude to the Grizz!

A trade will be the best thing for Wiseman. He simply isn't a good fit for the Warriors, and I feel confident he will excel in the right situation.

He's a unicorn, he said so himself. So hopefully he will find a better fit somewhere.

Not the same type of player or body, but IMO very similar to Oden, and also might be a lesser version of Andrea Bargnani. He doesn't have the intensity, I don't think he is tough enough and he is always injured.

To me, his best case eventual role is as a stat stuffer on a mediocre team that doesn't make the playoffs, or a middle of the road playoff team. Even without the injuries, he seems soft.

He doesn't seem dedicated enough. Just a lazy talented guy. Should have been redflags not to draft him that high when he sat out the season here after being cleared.

One particular thing about him sitting out the season is the media cannot blame Penny or coming to Memphis for his demise.

The whole experience was off. He didn't play in the Bahamas even though he was supposedly medically cleared and seemed to be moving around fine. With us, he could have easily come back, but he took easy money from the agent. I'm not a Draymond Green fan, but the tantrum he had at Wiseman his rookie season was probably all about that. No intensity, laziness, not being smart, stuff like that.

Unless things change, I can't ever imagine him being a fighter who is going to motivate his teammates and make his teams better.

There is no shame in making over $100 million over a 10 year career, averaging 14 and 8 without too much effort.

Greg Oden?
Not even a remotely close comparison.

Wiseman put up crazy good numbers in the G league this year. And had good numbers his rookie season.

He’s healthy, they just won’t play him.

Agree. Aside from that, people aren't considering that the Warriors aren't interested in a center who is a primary scoring threat. They want a big who runs screens and pulls rebounds to feed back to the guards. He simply doesn't fit well in their offensive scheme, and will likely excel in the right situation with the right team.

There has to be more too it than that. There is no reason Wiseman cannot fill the role you are describing (screens and rebounds). I do not keep up with the Warriors or Wiseman but there is a reason he is not seeing much time on a team that could use an inside presence.

RE: Wiseman running out of time with the Warriors..
I have been checking the boxscores lately for any former Tigers to see how they are doing. Wiseman is currently listed as "Out" due to an ankle injury. He has been shown the last few games as "DNP-ankle". So he is injured - again. Seems to be what happens to him a lot. I always saw him as skinny and fragile and maybe susceptible to injury when in the league with the big boys he has to go up against. Hope he can work a trade and land with a team that can use him better than GS.

Sure, aside from scoring he's a bit rough, but he needs more time to develop his playing at that level. His injuries have caused him to miss a significant number of games (not including the fact he didn't really pay college ball), and they aren't willing to give him the leeway to play through his mistakes. Ultimately the Warriors want to squeeze what they can out of Steph Curry, considering he's the player they've built the franchise around. With his age and physical condition, there's a finite timeline and a long-term project like Wiseman aligns poorly with those goals.

Well what do you know, we agree on something! He's had some injury issues, sure, but it seems like he doesn't have the drive or motivation to become a real factor in the NBA. It's like he plays basketball because it's what he's supposed to do, not what he wants to do.

He better dig deep if he wants to stay in the NBA and continue making the big money.

Moving him might be a good thing for both parties involved. I can also see the Greg Oden comparison because of the injuries. His situation reminds me of Darko Miličić and Jermaine O'Neal. Two young players that were drafted by championship level teams. O'Neal went on to be successful after being traded, but Darko didn't. I used to think back then that Darko wasn't being used right, but after seeing how the NBA has evolved I think he was just born at the wrong time. He's a big that would have been a better fit in today's NBA IMO.

His numbers mirror Oden's quite closely, Oden's rookie and sophmore seasons, when he was healthy. Wiseman also has trouble staying healthy.

He is a perfect G League play. He floats around outside, doesn't really mix it up inside or fight for rebounds, he has a good shot and can shoot over most opponents. I've seen quite a few of his games, with the Warriors and the G League.

The more to it, was Kerr openly questioning his work ethic from the beginning, and it seems that has always been an issue.

He really isn't an imposing inside presence. He doesn't mix it up much; it's not his game. Many are saying he isn't a good fit, he should be a really good fit alongside Green, but he isn't.
