We are bad when you are ranked 120 out of 133. Carey was the good old days.

The 3 NIU players in the NFL playoffs got me thinking how Hammock hasn’t recruited or developed any NFL talent yet. Rat dog was maybe the only one but he was already a great player out of WIU and just played one year with NIU. Hope that changes

To be fair most of Hammock’s guys are still “young”…Covid year, redshirts, etc. All of that said…his recruits looked better on paper than grass.

Don’t agree. He is going into year five. Every team in the country experienced the Covid year.

They could also be incredible, but also poorly schemed and out of place on every play. At least on defense.

His first recruiting class has had 4 years already. I’d hope to see someone take the next step. If not, then I’m seriously questioning his staff’s ability to recruit and coach.

This is what it feels like for those guys.

The offense is fine. I am thinking some O-Line talent lands in the NFL.

My young comment means they are too “young” for the NFL draft. Rarely do you see MAC guys drafted or in The NFL with years left in their college career. It’s hard to judge. I mean could Ester make an NFL roster? O’Malley? O-line? Tucker? Rudolph? Rocky? Not sure but they haven’t been given a chance yet so it’s a bit difficult to judge the NFL worthiness.

I think the talent is probably good. The coaching is awful.

Yeah, it’s fair to say NFL talent can’t be decided until year 4. But it can be judged in terms of NFL potential. I don’t see any on D. The guys that seem at least athletic enough aren’t big enough. On offense? Ughhh…I do not see it from hammocks O-linemen YET. The best linemen were Carey guys. Skill positions: Brown?? Maybe. Rocky?? Possibly. Rudolph?? Best bet.

The roster reminds me of a policeman at the site of a car accident “nothing to see here. Move along. Nothing to see here”

I thought Nygra was very good for how young he is. Moves well and has a solid frame to him.

The defense would be fine…but it’s criminally slow. None of the back 7, aside from rayner pre injury, can run. So you aren’t wrong. No back 7 to the nfl unless the transfers make it. I like Ester, but he has to put it together. Ray Thomas kind of vanished. I like O’Malley.

120 is about right for the train wreck of 2022. When last seen, our heroes were getting blown out at home by Akron.

It’s ok guys. According to Hammock’s tweet today, a bunch of walk-ons received schollys. We’re bursting with talent!

Not surprised. He needs to get with the times. All those scholarships should have been used in the portal to get guys in here with talent. There is a reason they were walk ons in the first place.

He really hangs his hat on getting walk-ons who become decent contributors. I guess I'm with you guys, I'd rather find the next stud or develop a guy into a stud...

No doubt he can build a running back room and o line. But I miss the days of over performing defensive players...
