I think people have made interesting points about why to not invite UNLV.

But, I think at this point, I don't think they're all in on recruiting only due to academics, when all it takes is an agreement of "work on it", and when geography seems to be a premium criteria.

I think taking SDSU and Fresno state as a pair to cover california is sounding more and more like a good idea.

If people really want SMU, then build a pod/division:

SMU, Tulane, and Rice would, I presume, at least mollify the academics.

I like the Trio - maybe UTSA instead of Rice. That being said, Rice does bring a lot to the table, just not very good football, but getting better!

I'd take SMU/UTSA/Rice to get a footprint in every big metro in Texas. Tulane has had 2 good years in 50, they're Rice but in a much more remote location.

Not true.. not even close to being right.. we are larger than TCU in school size plus we do have a recent history the last 10 yrs of success.. we also took your wide receiver in the portal.. you must be salty..

We will more than likely end up in a reconfigured ACC if I had to guess or the BIG 12

I actually laughed out loud at this post. Yulkeith Brown caught 6 passes over 2 years, he just wasn't good enough to get playing time and he knew that wasn't going to change in 2023. I didn't know that he'd chosen Tulane until you posted this.

I have nothing at all against Tulane. You guys had a program-altering season this year, and you managed to keep your coach on top of it. That's huge, and you have potential going forward. But, right now, Tulane is not on any P5 radars. Once the ACC busts open? Yeah, maybe, if you guys take care of business between now and then. It took Patterson a decade of truly elite play to get TCU into the big 12, UCF has been to 3 Major Bowls, Cincinatti was in the CFP a year ago, BYU won a MNC 30 years ago and also spent a decade trying to join a major conference...check back when you guys have more than 1 big season under your belt, and a bigger Brand to offer a P5 Conference that's looking to add a school.

According to this article, there were 7 early front-runners for the 4 big 12 adds in 2021: BYU, UCF, Cincinnati, Houston, Boise State, SMU and Memphis. Boise, SMU and Memphis still get discussed b/c they've done what they need to do to put themselves into position to be considered. But Tulane? $40.8m a year in Athletics revenue isn't enough.

RE: When are we going to hear something from the Pac?
Why would the Pac-12 take the likes of SMU, Rice, UTSA, Tulane, etc? What’s the rush or the incentive?

Bottom line, there’s not a school out there that’s considered a home run addition like Utah was in 2010. The closest thing would be BYU but they’re Big XII bound. SMU, SDSU, etc are not going anywhere. The Big XII won’t get any more G5’s and the ACC is not expanding so I’m asking again, what’s the rush?

Looks like the B1G is not going to expand for the time being now that Warren is heading to the NFL. Once the ACC gets close to last 4-5 years of their GOR then we will see the B1G and SEC kill the ACC and Pac-12 and the Big XII getting the remaining best schools (e.g Louisville), those two conferences will backfill with MWC and AAC schools. If you’re Utah State and Tulane, having the Pac-12 and ACC logos on your field and court still gives you a sense of prestige even if most schools associated with said conferences are gone.

Another day, another nothing burger from Pac-land. We should start taking bets on whether they eventually sign a deal or a bunch of the 4c jump to the big 12.
