Rare earths now reach into the lives of almost everyone on the planet, turning up in everything from hard drives to elevators and trains. They are especially vital to the fast-growing field of green energy, feeding wind turbines and electric car engines.

Had a rare one wash up in Pass Christian last week.

Something truly cataclysmic is coming our way eventually. Mother Nature will do something to mitigate the damage we are causing. And no, I'm not talking about climate change. There are hundred, if not thousands, of other ways we are harming our environments.

Yeah, I wasn't referring to an event that destroys the planet but rather it's primary developed parasitic inhabitants; us. The earth will be fine after we are either gone or have our numbers severely reduced.

Yep... we aren't saving the earth at all... we are only trying to make an increasingly entitled, spoiled and lazy human population more comfortable
