Completely understand. Hard to have the best sound in such a large space, that's for sure, especially compared to purpose-built facilities. Among other arenas I've visited for concerts, the Coliseum compared very favorably. Unfortunately, with top touring productions, one often doesn't have a choice but to see them in an arena.
Glad to see the Coliseum will be repurposed. Many of us have fond memories of the place. It would be so wasteful to let it sit idle or worse be demolished.
That was the beauty of it back then. EVERYONE toured and we saw tons of top acts that weren’t quite ready for the huge arena. Good times.

Serious? You're all over the threads that concern the state funding and Liberty Bowl renovations. The proposal is to convert it to a soccer arena, but you should already know this.

Serious? There is quite a difference between a proposal & and a contract especially when funding has yet to be approved & provided.

Yes, technically the funding has not been approved and provided. That doesn't change the fact that the intention is to repurpose the facility. Can it fall through? Sure.
When you originally commented, you mistyped and wrote "contacted" which made zero sense. Anyone knows there is no contract in place when the funding isn't currently available. I wasn't sure exactly what you were asking other than expressing surprise regarding the Coliseum plans.

Interesting. You do realize the Coliseum has been repurposed & proposals voted upon by the city council in the past, right? Further to the no contract issue, do you know how many times the 100 N. Main Bldg has been announced as being repurposed & even under contract? Do you know how many additional hotel proposals & contracts have been signed for another N. Main hotel over the last 20 yrs? And did you know that the funding for the new stadium in Nashville was approved by the legislature in Aug 2022 just shortly have such funding was sought. Where does the Memphis funding stand with the legislature?
