ECU fans are funny. Many will claim that they shouldn't be playing Appalachian State, because it does nothing for them except serve as an embarrassment if they lose. Then they cry foul when NC State and UNC fans say the same thing about them.

That's true, but we've only played each other once since we moved up to FBS in 2014. I'm looking forward to the game in Boone this season.

They played in 1978 and 1979, but Appalachian State moved up from FCS to FBS in 2014, which is why I said "since we moved up to FBS in 2014."
