My 10,000th Post
This marks my 10,000th post.

Gosh, I’m probably one of the younger folks on here but I really miss what college athletics used to be before the NIL and the giant tv deals. When players played for the love of the game. Back before we had prima donna QBs that refused to take a hit and fought for extra yards because that’s what inspired their teammates and gained their respect. It wasn’t about your end zone celebration dance (I can’t tell you how mad I get every time I see some arrogant showboater drop the ball before the cross the plane.) or how many Twitter followers you had. There weren’t all these cupcakes on the schedule. Going to bowl meant something and wasn’t just a participation trophy. Playing for the tie was an act of cowardice and OT was non-existent. You played your rivals rather than avoid them on account of being in separate conferences. A free college education from a great school in exchange for playing a game used to be a coveted thing and all the compensation a player needed because an education meant a career and a livelihood after football.

We need to bring back the spirit of the old days instead of just being NFL light.

Having overtime is a good thing. If nothing else, it takes away any possibility the coach will act like a Pat Dye and take the coward's way out. Yeah, I'm an Auburn fan and I think that tie against Syracuse was wimpy.

I agree with you on most of the other issues.
