I mostly agree, but don’t discount the possibility that these are essentially untalented people in the first place. What seems like half-ass crap to us may actually be the most brilliant thing they’ve ever done or ever will do.

I mean, I don’t specifically know if that’s the case with the creative minds behind Velma, but I’ve met a few people who work(ed) in professional media. They were honestly not that bright or funny or witty or anything at all like that.
