Defense is the Key
We need to go to 40 minutes, 94ft of Hell ... The roster is deep enough, and he likes to substitute anyway ...

On Ball - Guard the ball hand ... can they use both, sure; but no one is better with their off hand than their dominate one in this league ... The games I watch, when forced to go to the offside, they go 1 to 2 dribbles and then HAVE to do something with the ball (pass, shoot, TURNOVER) ...

Off Ball - DENY, DENY, DENY ... Forget this 'See Man, See Ball' crap ... That's where the open 3's keep coming from ...

In the Post - Front them ... make them work, expend energy, and get careless ...

Mix in occasional trapping presses / zones ... Let the Defense become the catalyst for the Offense ... Push the ball, and when you get tired of that; push some more !!!

Get up by 30, then you can slow down a possession or 2, but 40 minutes of in your face defense should be our Mantra !!!

I am not a fan of slap ball defense. Teams are scoring big on us. Like the commentator was saying in the beginning, steals are great, but staying between your man and the basket is even better. All this chasing after the ball, slapping at it, hoping you knock it loose only goes so far, and generally ends with someone getting an open shot.

I don’t agree with a lot of what you say but you are spot on here. We gamble way too much and some of our vets are the worst at it.
