Kent State @ Ohio
The Golden Flashes head to Athens looking to accomplish a feat that no team has done this season...beat the Bobcats at the Convo. That 7-0 mark is highlighted by Tuesday's conference win over Ball State. Ohio was down three at half but took care of business in the second half behind 23 points from Jaylin Hunter and 22 points and 10 rebounds from Dwight Wilson.

The Bobcats have five players that average 9.4 points per night or more and eleven players that average 8.4 minutes or more per night. That speaks volumes if you ask me. It is going to take a TEAM effort to knock off OU. Losses to Belmont, Marshall, Detroit, Buffalo and BG tell us that Kent is more than capable of doing so. I would feel even better about it if Jacobs is willing to take up yet another residence, this time in the head of Brown or Hunter.

Go Flashes!

Fallsdog, I feel I don't know how to bet on this game (which is now legal in Ohio) without your final score. Mine are usually wrong.

BTW, Kent 123, Ohio 7.

Ha. Well, laying down a wager on my favorite team is a no no. Being a fan is much more exciting and rewarding. The Convo is a tough place to win. 7 sounds good but....

Kent State 68
Ohio University 65
Three Point GOOOOOOOAL Miryne THOMAS wins the ballgame for the good guys.

I dislike betting on my favorite team for the same reason. I did go to the Ohio @ BG game last weekend so I put a little money on BG figuring Ohio wins great, they lose at least I had gas money haha

I did have money on Kent when I was at the MACC Tuesday, did make the game a little more interesting when Toledo made their run. I do like the way Jacobs plays the game.

Side note, that’s the first game I’ve been to this year, has Kent curtained off half the upper level every home game this year?

There was an announced attendance of just over 4k Tuesday for Ball State. I’d expect slightly more for the Friday game. Without the students the crowd always seems smaller than it is though.

Carry and Wilson will get theirs. Ohio will need someone to step up (Jaylin Hunter, AJ Brown, Miles Brown or AJ Clayton) to match Jacobs / Thomas. Here’s hoping for an entertaining game. Good luck.

I have always liked that OU seems to have a fanbase that extends beyond the student section. That is not to say that Kent, Akron or BG do not, but hoops seems to be a nice draw to the people in and around Athens Ohio.

Yeah, we do seem to get a lot of community support. it's a fun atmosphere that the gameday marketing people come up with in football and basketball. and i also think part of it is the "it's the only game in town" kind of thing although there are several fun things to do in Athens (some involve drinking and some don't!).

Hornbeak on Wilson is going to be a big matchup tonight. Hate seeing a questionable and very late whistle on Hornbeak on the first chance. Looked like really good defense.

Carry gets no love from the refs. A guy is literally falling down into his back, takes his legs out while he's trying to take a layup. No call. Absurd.

Well, getting about the expected whistle in this damn place. Hated this area since they got like a 10 free throw possession in Q and Scott's Sr year.

Tie up at about 30 seconds left…

Great job by the officials deescalating the situation.

Only down 1 and Carry has been 1-7, I like our chances in the second half when he starts getting shots to drop.

RE: Kent State @ Ohio
Happy for the win. Great defense (shutting down Wilson in the 2nd half) got it done.

I love Carry but this young man is a mess right now. No idea what’s up with him but he wants to fight everybody. Maybe it’s the shot not falling or something else but I hope he gets it together soon. We can’t win this league without him at or near his best.
