i get it was at home, but ucf at full strength likely the #2 in the league.. if not for the asheville loss you are likely a comfortable seed right now....

The most UCF-Memphis game ever, I swear we'd compete in curling and go to over time.

All loses suck but you have to admit it was an entertaining game. No quit in either team. I wondered how many watched it on ESPN+ ?

I find it hard to enjoy losing like that, we gave the game away at the end of regulation.

We had all the will to continue a cat a mouse chase through multiple overtimes but lacked the focus to just close the game out.

This hurts even more when considering we've already been through late game chokes this season that resulted in losses. It's hard to fathom how they just topped the choke jobs all season tonight.

Saying i'm disappointed in this team is an understatement. I hope this one hurts them enough to focus and go on a run. I said this about Tulane though and that didn't last long at all did it.

Ridiculous.

That which does not destroy you only makes you stronger. Supposedly. 04-rock
Anyway that was one great game by Davis scoring his all time high 42 points. He just ran out of mojo at the end.

Great game. Congrats to UCF. Really helped your cause. Really hurt ours. Sometimes it's rough to be a Memphis fan.

I'm gonna miss all the battles we have in both sports.

not really... its a q1 loss,
the context that ucf was missing numerous players kinda makes in bad but no one including the committee will care or remember those details in march..

hopefully you get dandridge back soon

Hendricks and Young were also out for both overtimes. We had PJ Edwards play for most of the overtimes, our team really impressed tonight. If this team can continue their performances and handle business the rest of the way, we might do some damage in March. One can dream…

We've been doing this the whole season. We get leads and we give it back. This team has no killer instinct. This was supposed to be the mature experienced team. lol

Anyway, good game knights. You were 15-25 from 3 at one point. Not sure if you can keep that up all season though.

Like I said in the previous post, good game, but the announcers must have mentioned 20 times how you guys were short handed and guys were fouling out. Hardly mentioned Memphis with the same issues.

Dandrige our starting center has been out a month now. Not one mention of that. We lost Lomax to an injury and Kennedy and Williams both fouled out. Were those UCF announcers?

lomax played 31 minutes

for ucf it was way more noticable, as when dandrige was hurt a huge portion of memphis fans wouldnt even acknowledge that he is a good player... his value has shown without him

but ucf is down 3 of their preseason top 4 players ... then fouled out the last player in that group (hendricks) along with suggs

it would be equivlant to not having davis, lomax and dandrige not play at all, and then still having deandre and kennedy foul out and somehow winning..

Memphis still had arguably their best player in Kendric Davis for the entire game, while we were down every top player except CJ Kelly and Ithiel Horton, both of which are SGs. All of our PGs and bigs were gone. PJ Edwards, a deep bench player, played all of overtime, because we didn’t have anyone else.

Lomax was out for some of the first OT and all of the second OT. It was a major blow. Davis plays hurt. He only hit one three in the past two games. The Tigers are missing Dandridge and Hardaway (a starter).

UCF is very good (#1 Houston only beat them by six at home) and played with great fortitude, but let's not pretend Memphis was at full strength or construct a nebulous "equivalent" narrative. Both teams were undermanned, but UCF found a way to win to their credit.
