TCU vs UGA
Woof. That was....bad.
80-20 doesn't feel so bad now. They just had a 4th quarter running clock in the friggin national championship game. Total and complete domination.

I guess if you're looking for something to be grateful for after last season, we can be thankful that wasn't us. Really feel for the TCU family.

RE: TCU vs UGA
At least we finally had a great semi round. The UGA/OSU and UMich/TCU games were classics. Too bad the championship was a dud. But Georgia is pretty dang good

Watching that UGA team, though, reminded me that those teams in the SEC are just built different. It's not even the same sport we play.

RE: TCU vs UGA
This is why Im not a fan of expanded playoffs. Lets just be honest with ourselves, the 2-3 best teams, if not more, are in the SEC every year. Basketball has cinderella stories, its far more difficult to have a cinderella story in football.
The Cotton Bowl was a great game between 2 teams that would get stomped by the SEC. In the current format Tulane gets to head into the offseason with an exciting victory over USC instead of going head to head with a team like UGA and getting destroyed.
Yes, I know Georgia played awful and had to sneak out a win vs. Ohio State. Thats gonna happen at times for sure (or an upset like tOSU winning). But, with the expansion to 12 teams, you are going to see some SEC schools name their score against the 12th best team in the country.
Georgia has 5 star freshman that are 3rd string. They bring in 10 DL that all can just demolish the TCU offensive line.

RE: TCU vs UGA
I think the expanded playoffs might have a different effect on some of these players decisions. Now you all pile up in 2-3 programs because it is so exclusive to think you can reach the CFP. With more paths to get in there, I think more teams may be appealing to the 4 and 5 star recruits. But who knows really?
One thing is for sure...Kirby Smart, Nick Saban, and Ryan Day and their staffs seem to be way ahead of everyone else at the moment in recruiting and big game preparation.

RE: TCU vs UGA
With the 12 team playoff, the weaker teams should at least in theory, get eliminated early, allowing for a better championship game.
It also allows for small conference teams to, at least in theory, have a chance. No undefeated team should ever be denied a shot at the title. Play until you lose.
It wasn't that long ago when the National Champion of College Football was voted for. At least it was decided on the field last night, and how.
