I think many on this board over estimated Toledo by trying to put them in the same class as Kent. IMO Kent is the clear favorite and that's coming from an Akron fan. Akron, Ball State, Toledo, Ohio, and maybe Buffalo are all within striking distance of one another to compete for the 2nd best team.

Ugly game, but two wins in a row!

Nice opening win on the road. Ball State starts with @Toledo, Akron and @Ohio and could have conceivably started out 0-3.

I find it hard to overestimate a TK team !!
He talks a good game, but in the end ( Cleveland ) they fall short and are relegated to an NIT bid (getting knocked out early)…

Amazingly, Miami held a 2 point lead with around 2:30 to go.

How the hell did Kent give up over 40 in the 2nd half to WMU?

The story of the game which I attended was the lack of defense by Toledo which has been a problem all season. Ball St played a great overall game and are vastly improved from last season with the additions of their transfer wing players Coleman and Jacobs. As for Toledo, they are just as good or even better than they were last season offensively, but are a shell of themselves defensively where they are giving up over 11 point more per game than last season (80ppg). If they don't fix these season long issues, it is going to be very difficult for them to win 3 games in Cleveland even with how good they are on offense.

Akron and Ball State really going at each other in the paint. Inside guys doing major work for both teams, at both ends. One possession game most of the night so far... midway second half.

One doesn't need any knowledge of statistics to understand the concept of 'averages.'

Emoni had a sub-par game in game #1 and an excellent game in game #2.

Pretty much what one might expect of a good collegiate player.

I think the big story for EMU is that Emoni's supporting cast isn't as strong as thought before the season started.

EMU will go as far as Emoni's SUPPORTING CAST will take them.

I know fans of other MAC teams don't follow Emoni's every game, every move.

This BG team is showing some strength on both ends of the court. Emoni goes off today in the second half to carry Eastern to a win over Central Michigan. Same Central team that recently beat Michigan. It’s still early in the MAC but liked what I saw in the Falcons yesterday.
In nearly all the years I’ve followed MAC basketball (which is over 40 years) teams with solid guard play and good defense usually win the conference.
Kent State is that team currently.
