We are!!
I know there are at least two other Illinois fans and at least one of them is an alum but am I the only PSU fan/alum here?
Interesting that my aunt is a retired Utah professor. I don't think she's into sports though.

RE: Rose Bowl .... Penn State vs Utah
I love the tradition of the Rose Bowl coin with both team's logos. No need to have one team call the toss, the team who comes up is the team that wins the toss. If you're going to make a special coin for the game, just do it that way so no one "gets" to call the toss (yes I know it's 50-50 but if I said you had a choice between choosing heads or tails or letting someone else choose for you, wouldn't you rather choose?)

All those Utah fans in the stands. The love football in that fast growing state. Honestly this is why many people --myself included-- see the Utes as a much better B1G target than Cal. Still I think they are sort of the Wisconsin of the Pac-12, good but never legitimate top 10 material.

Utah’s former MWC membership is still considered a minus, especially among these 75 year old college presidents.
May or may not be fair, but that’s the way it is.
I suspect that Colorado (a major conference team since 1948) might have a chance at supplanting Cal if they had 5 straight division titles, rather than being suffering through the worst and most prolonged down period in their history.

So after Michigan and Ohio state got all the attention it turns out Penn State is the only NY6 winner from the big 10.

Congratulations to the Nittany Lions on a nice 11 win season and Rose Bowl victory.
Unfortunately, you will not get any love from AssKickingChicken on this thread. He does not give two ***** about the Rose Bowl.

Did they bump the RB to ESPN2 for MNF, or are they starting the Bulls/Cinci game on ESPN2?

Penn St was pretty underrated at #11. No surprise they won today.

It was an interesting close game until Cam Rising got hurt. Backup didn't do anything until the final drive when it was all over.

If you had told me in 2010 that Mountain West members Utah and TCU would be in 3 Rose Bowls and a National Championship Game over the next 12 years…

Their only losses this year were to Michigan and Ohio State (and Michigan was at Michigan). IMO that's a good Big Ten year.

Utah didn’t win anything, but at least they’re getting some credit I guess.

They should get credit for getting there in back-to-back years. Penn State has better overall talent. Utah was playing without cornerback Clark Phillips and tight end Dalton Kincaid, who both opted out for the NFL. Both were first team All-Pac-12. They needed Cam Rising to help them keep up with PSU and once he went out, that was the end of the day for the Utes. Penn State had a star cornerback, Joey Porter Jr. opt-out for the NFL, but they barely missed him.
The attendance for the Rose Bowl game yesterday was 94,873. The traffic was a mess, but not unusual considering the fact that the Rose Bowl struggles to handle 50,000 fans. The Utah fans showed up in great numbers and they were loud, but I really have to give it to the Penn State fans. They were really loud and entertaining. In the 4th quarter, it was a joy to listen to them singing, "Sweet Caroline." That is one passionate fanbase and something you never see in the Rose Bowl when UCLA is playing.

Wonder if the Steelers might draft Porter, Jr. His dad played for the Steelers and has been on the coaching staff (Idk if he still is).
