Why not??? Most of you know that we have some pretty mild weather in December most years. Hell, it was 63 degrees yesterday. This should be a no brainer for the MAC and the SBC/AAC/CUSA.

And Cincy had a high of 7 one week ago...

Quote:I'm not sure the MAC needs more bowl games. I guess the questions here become:

Well, any more bowl games will be "MAC" bowl games. As in ensuring that our 6-6 teams get in when they sometimes can't (like WMU the year-after-PJ). And a once in a blue moon 7-5 MAC team being left out. Of course, just as often a 6-6 MAC team's left out, a 5-7 (or 6-6 team with two D1AA wins) gets called up.

In a fantasy world, it'd be good to have "on hold" bowls -- where if too many teams make it in, they'll "turn on" one of the bowls. And when there's a year like this year where more than 1 team is by default ineligible, they hold off the bowl(s) on hold.

We only need more bowls once every 4 years or so, I'd imagine.

Why ensure ALL 6-6 teams make it in for bowls? Because it's a great venue to pitt conference vs conference. They take one G5 conference team VS another who has about the same record. Even independents helps tell that story. It's like a very Enhanced OOC game in the spotlight that reveals how good or not so good conferences are.

This year, the MAC showed they aren't rollovers.

A lowly MAC team vs a lowly CUSA team could attract as many as 5,000 fans.

The TQL stadium is owned by Lindner's who also own Great American Insurance.

Skyline Chile Bowl. Has 130 restaurants.

The Cincinnati Samuel Adams Brewery is only a couple blocks away as is Music Hall, Findlay Market and numerous OTR nice restaurants.

And for that situation, the MAC is in the ESPN bowl pool.

AFAIU, the MAC is already sponsoring the number of bowls that our record of bowl eligible schools supports, and for years when we are above our average, someone else will be below their average, and that will normally open up a place in the bowl pool.

Won the bowl game WITHOUT the best player that plays the most important position on the field, QB Rourke. Ohio knows how to do bowls unlike any other MAC school. Congrats Bobcats!
