Top 25 Most Valuable College Football Programs
Some interesting names on this list!

A good article on the topic:

Nine SEC programs among 25 most valuable in college football; 5 make top 10

Ummmmm, there's no way Utah is number 9 and Ohio State is 22... sorry but this list is hogwash.

There’s no way this list is accurate. There’s no way Ohio St is that low.

I saw a gray “Caution Wet Floor” pylon thing this morning. Then I found out we’re buying Pitt’s ‘cruits and a top 10 most valuable program. Must have woken up in an alternate reality.

PS: this probably reflects a large cash infusion related to stadium expansion that happened over the time frame being covered.

The article above says these numbers are from 2019-20, which would be very similar to the numbers reported in this linked article.

Ohio State athletic department reports $63.6 million deficit in 2021 fiscal year

The original article took it from this report:

https://www.gobankingrates.com/net-worth...-football/

Fine print: Methodology: For this piece GOBankingRates used the United States Department of Education’s “Equity in Athletics Data Analysis” (EADA) dataset to find (1) total football revenues; and (2) conference for all NCAA Division I schools all in FY19-20 data (the most recent available).

Not sure how OU and Texas ended up at 1 & 2 here, but that was the last full season before Covid. Everything has changed since then.

I think the 2020 football season was counted. For the two seasons combined? Big 10 played less games in 2020 than any of the other conferences. What was the effect? Utah would show up ahead of Ohio State because of that year alone. It should have an asterik that the Covid season was in effect in 2020 which does not reflect the real worth of college football.

Well, that explains why this is so flawed. That data is useless for analyzing revenues and expenses by sport. Schools can classify revenues and expenses any way they want, and most lump huge amounts into a "not allocated by sport" category.
