Yeah, I'm on the fence about how I feel about his attempts. On one hand...it's probably for the best. But on the other, if he could be remotely competent shooting the ball, he could be a real problem for defenses and immensely help out Williams and Coit (because Nutter is becoming more and more of a spectator).

But...we've all seen what happens when he has a higher percentage of touches...it's usually not good. And while I don't expect performances like he put on against Gonzaga, he showed how even a really good team can struggle with him if he's on.

But I digress...

Also, I wasn't able to watch yesterday since it was a day game but I had some at home remote work to do today and put on a replay of the game just to glance at from time to time (no volume as I was on a Google Meet). Anyway, with about 35 seconds to play...is it just me or did that Indiana State player absolutely truck our guard (Coit?) and get the steal leading to the layup?

I actually rewound it and turned the volume up (100% aware it was the Indiana State announcers) to see what was said about it and they didn't seem to notice. The camera wasn't on Burno until a little bit later so I couldn't see his reaction and...in another situation...that's a perfectly fine spot for a coach to get a technical but not in that situation so him not throwing a sh!t fit was perfectly fine by me.

Ultimately it didn't matter but it still irked me.

There were a lot of calls in the last five minutes that were in the Sycamore's favor.

Dennis Gates who was a assistant under Patton and for a sho Time under Monty is doing great at Missouri. He also was good at Cleveland State I believe. I think Monty was insecure with having Gates around and Gates left. He was always considered a head coach in waiting should’ve been here.

Where do people come up with this kind of stuff? No way Monty would have been insecure around Dennis Gates even if they had ever been on the same staff. By the way, Dennis left NIU in 2009. Monty was hired at NIU in 2011. Coach Gates left the Huskies for Nevada – a better basketball gig. By 2011, he was an assistant at Florida State.

RE: MBB @ Indiana State
My mistake I could’ve sworn Gates was still here when Monty was hired and I personally knew Monty and I felt he was a very insecure person.
