SBC Recruiting
Noticed on the main forum they were discussing recruiting ratings.

https://csnbbs.com/thread-961640.html

That A-State has the best roster of talent in the SBC is not debatable : https://247sports.com/Season/2022-Footba...erence=SBC , anymore than Butch Jones choosing to put too many players on the field a year or two before they should have been at this level, and cost them three or more likely four games, is debatable.

While a number of their commits have not received their ratings, all are expected to have sold 3-Star ratings, and it should be better than last years class: https://247sports.com/college/arkansas-s...l/Commits/ ,something Butch Jones said should be the case every year going forward.

At this point most of their commits are mostly freshmen , so unless they add some maturity though JC's or the Portal they will again be very young next year, but very, very talented.

I would not be surprised if they don't again have the best roster of talent in the SBC to cobble a depth chart out of- now if you visit their main message board you will be told they have no talent whatsoever, but that is not the case at all.

Fact is no SBC team is better positioned as far as talent as they are.

Just like last year, Butch can add a couple of older players on the OL and DL, and beat most SBC teams, if he wants too .

Still not sure if he wants to yet, and he might be content to stay young and beat most of them-which he expected to do, and was close to doing this year.

RE: SBC Recruiting
While a few of their commits lack a final composite rating-because they are waiting on all the recruiting services they use to rate them, some do have their 247 ratings.

Clyde Curry (.8800)
Deaubry Hood (.8500 )
Tennel Bryant (.8600)

and while not having a 247 Rating, Jordan Sample https://247sports.com/Recruitment/Jordan...Interests/ ,is expected to be one of their highest rated commits when all is said and done.

All the others should have solid 3-star ratings, and their Portal Transfers have normally been higher rated than their regular recruits, so their average player rating of . 8324 for is expected to go up .

RE: SBC Recruiting
Because 20 of their current 23 commits are HS players and they are expected to add more HS commits, and based on the number of players Butch is saying they expect to sign next week-around 30, they are not going to be loading up on Portal transfers in the early signing period.

That does not mean they will not add more Portal players in February or over the summer, they almost certainly will.

While they will be young next year, it does look like Butch is committed to adding Portal or JC players on the OL and DL to prevent a repeat of this past season.

Again like last season, Butch can add the pieces to their roster to beat any SBC teams in 2023 if he wants too. Like last year he may stay focused on 2024 and beyond, because it is his call. The folks at A-State just just want a program that wins consistently, and Butch is recruiting the talent needed to do that.

RE: SBC Recruiting
Have to wait until September to see if the highest rated SBC roster- which is the consensus of the major recruiting sites https://247sports.com/Season/2022-Footba...erence=SBC , is still the highest rated.

If they meet Butches' goal of again adding the highest rated recruiting class, they should offset the players leaving and have one of, if not the best rosters in the SBC to cobble a team out of again in 2023.

They will still be young, just how young is up to Butch Jones, and may not be known until the start of fall camp.

Again these ratings are based on the "composite ratings" of their players by the major recruiting sites, which is now regarded as the "standard candle" for comparing talent.
