I was referring to beating Tennessee wasn’t so unusual in the
80s.

Well that ranking was short lived....still not convinced Milton-Jones is the answer. Too many up and down days.

I'm sure Wood is working on an extension as we speak.

Just another program not meeting its potential. NBD.

Another ass-Whoopin today at the hands of New Mexico.

I'll be at the JMU game on New Years Eve. I'm not optimistic.

RE: WBB Top 20 / Mid Major Poll
It is sad to me as a long time Lady Monarchs fan to have watched how the program has been allowed to deteriorate under Wood Selig's watch. I understand that P5s have more control than ever in athletics and it is harder for G5 schools to compete. The problem I have is the how the ladies program has been treated - the unceremonious firing of a legend to the poor hire of Karen Barefoot and the absolutely horrendous schedule put together this year. Our record is 221-169 since 2010-11 season to present. NO conference championships during that time, NO NCAA tournament appearances.

But each year when the Ladies are relegated to a WNIT appearance we have to listen to Wood try to spin this as a great thing for the program. The deterioration has happened right before our eyes and is truly sad. The performance, such as it is, is based on Wood Selig's leadership.

I love football, but we were all sold a bill of goods when we were told it would not impact the other sports. The record and performance of women's basketball says otherwise. I know it will be harder to compete at the level we were once accustomed, but some G5 and "below" leagues have figured it out (Florida Gulf Coast, MTSU, Marquette, Rice, Creighton).

It seems we are asking ourselves the same questions about the primary sports at ODU. Just not digging the leadership for the past decade or so. The leader of this ship is Wood Selig and the ship has a lot of barnicles and rust on it.

We are looking up at JMU in all three sports that matter. That alone is cause for a change.

JMU MBB has a non-conference SOS in the 290s. Can we at least let conference play happen before we crown them?

Have it your way, but I will be surprised if we don't go 0-4 against them this year. Might pull of a home win in the men's game.

Makes me sick to the stomach to post this.

Exactly...

Having a defeatist attitude towards our main SBC rivals before a league game has tipped off is hilarious.

That team you're so convinced is better than us is currently in double OT against Coppin State.

They lost. That is a shocker. We'll see how it plays our.

There shouldn't even be a question.

We are 1-7 vs UCONN all time.

The lone win was 82 - 77 in Norfolk on 2/13/99

That game is in my top 5 ODU games I've seen in person.

My all-time favorite was the NCAA Tournament game against Purdue in the Fieldhouse. I've never heard a game as loud as it was that day. I swear the building was shaking.

That 1990's - 2010's version of the Lady Monarch's was amazing!!!! Had season tix for 2 years, including the run to the NCAA Final, before moving out of the area. Men's or women's, college or pro that was some of the best basketball I have EVER seen . Ticha was a magician with the ball.
