Ex-NBA players as college coaches
Doesn't seem to work out to well in most cases. We have had one clear example here and may be working on our second. Clyde Drexler was awful at Houston, Patrick Ewing will probably be fired at Georgetown, Corliss Williamson was terrible at UCA. As bad as Sidney was, Kenny Payne, at Louisville may have him beat as the worst NBA to college coach ever. Louisville is 0-8. First 3 games, against midmajor type teams were all one-point losses. Since then they have lost 5 straight games by an average of 25 points or so. I'd hate to look at Louisville message boards right now. I assume he will win a few games, but it will be a long year.
