Mike Leach apparently suffered a serious heart attack this afternoon and was taken to Jackson MS Medical Center in critical condition. According to a late report on the Miss State Board, he is very ill and in need of "a miracle". Prayers for him and his family.

When Leach was doing color on a game at UH some years back, one of the cameras panned off towards the horizon in the direction of Rice. Leach's partner made a comment about Rice being over in that direction, and Leach responded by saying something very complimentary about our school. At that moment, I thought to myself, "Rice, at least give this guy a call. Please."

Leach was an amazing coach and a truly unique personality. I think he really was one of the greats.
