This is the apparent neoleftist tactic to skirt around anything... change the definition of words or phrases.

In the last 5 years, just off the top of my head, they've changed the definitions of "gain of function", "recession", "vaccine", "man", "woman", "queer", "marriage"... and that's just off the top of my head. And if the definition isn't changed, they just change the terms to eliminate or soften the connotations... "pedophilia" is now "intergenerational romance"... "Global Warming" is now "Climate Change"... "transexual" is now "transgender"... "women" are now "birthing persons"... "war" is now "kinetic action"... "urban riots" are now "mostly peaceful protests". "Rape", "sexual harassment" and "unwanted advances" are now all packaged into a generic term of "sexual assault".
