NEW FBS LEAGUE
10 Universities from the ASun-WAC are forming a FBS football conference. Its being reported 4 other teams possibly UTC may be involved.

Yep, all these other Universities being so dumb to move to FBS

It's very simple, go where there is a chance to make money. There's no money in FCS, just expenses.

I wish them well. There is no money in FBS football unless the University is in a P5 conference. The P5 have the TV revenue wrapped up.

The evolution is to P5 and everyone else.

The only way to fight back I feel is for the other schools to use their numerical advantage and solidify. There are a lot more FCS plus Group of Five schools than there are P5. P5 has the money buy they do not have the numbers. If it ever moves to the political arena then the numbers may have power. Plus many of the Group of Five schools play big time football and they are not simply going to be kicked to the curb. Schools like ETSU need to look at what peer schools are doing and mimic each other. Bucs do not need to act like a lone wolf in these times as there are scores of institutions in exactly the same boat.

Where they gonna get the money for stadiums, more scholarships, travel, etc, etc? As for those on the list, what is the fan attraction with relation to scheduling, selling 15,000 tickets per game, etc? The Austin Peay board of trustees have voted to move APSU to FBS by 2025, seriously? If they can pull this off with NCAA approval just to get the name FBS — why not the SoCon following the same path?

And, where is AP going to get the money for stadium expansion — and who is paying for their new basketball arena? Follow up answer for basketball arena - it’s a 30 year lease agreement with county/city.
