Which prompts the relevant question. Why have they never been exposed to it? We were taught flag etiquette in about the 2nd grade in school. And again in the 3rd. And again in the 4th.

I guess schools these days are too busy teaching twerking and hosting drag shows to teach things like proper respect for the flag. And the republic for which it stands.

I don’t know but where you a BRAT and grow up with it flag hold a place of importance outside of school? Times changes, doing the math from you username you were in 2nd Grade in the mid the late 50s. WWII recently over, Korean War too and the Cold War in full effect.

I teach my kids to honor the flag but I have also told them that they will not understand the flag the same way I do because on generation and because I have served and have a different connection to the flag.

My kids learn dances on the internet. In school they are taking robotics, computer applications, cooking, art and music outside of their core classes. Things that prepare them for the real world. Over doing worship can be a slippery slope.
