ancient apocalypse on Netflix

Haven't seen the show, but the thesis is that an advanced "Atlantis" was destroyed about 13,000 years ago and spread its knowledge to societies around the globe. Not really inconsistent with what happened with the Roman Empire and 1,000 years of the dark ages. The interesting thing is the efforts to suppress the show because it challenges the establishment.

"...One of the most egregious examples of media corruption and deceit was their Covid propaganda campaign. The press blindly promoted Democrats’ economically devastating Covid-19 lockdowns and Big Pharma’s useless masks and, in many ways, failed Covid vaccine. They also smeared the plausible lab-leak theory as “racist” and a “conspiracy theory,” all while destroying the reputation and careers of any scientists who dared challenge them.

To be a free-thinking individual, it is crucial to consider ideas that challenge the orthodoxy in science, politics, history, and more. It is equally important for free thinkers to look beyond the corporate news cycle and ponder deeper questions — like the origin of ancient human civilization. The press doesn’t like either of these things. They want the public’s minds shackled to whatever they present on the nightly news.

“Ancient Apocalypse” infuriates the media because it beckons us to consider great human mysteries and to be skeptical of establishment narratives. The series is entertaining and well-produced, but viewing it also has the delightful added bonus of giving a big middle finger to the lying propaganda press who think they own our minds."

The further we dig down the further we go back in history. They really don't know how old The Sphinx is. It has weathering from water at its base.

RE: ancient apocalypse on Netflix
It seems scientists and democrats are cut from the same cloth. Always claim they know everything only to have a Gobekli Tepe slap them in the face.
They say there was no Atlantis. Just old stories. Yet oceanographers dredge the mid Atlantic ridge 2,000 feet deep and find freshwater shells that only are found in very shallow fresh water.
They tell us no modern Homo sapiens were in the americas before 10,000 years ago. They destroyed the reputation of archeologists who claim to have found evidence of prior habitation. Then footprints show up in New Mexico dating to 24,000 years ago. They claim the Incas built the great polygonal structures in South America when the Incas themselves say they don’t know who built them. They say these cultures were cut off from each other although the polygonal structures are very similar all over the globe along with the H molds that liquid metal was poured into to lock stones together.

RE: ancient apocalypse on Netflix
I feel the need to preface my comments on the netflix special before I give them so let me get that out of the way:

Man's origins is not something I ever wonder about anymore. I did for the first 40 years of my life but since I began to seriously read the Bible and came to faith that all changed.

Science actually agrees with much of Genesis, it clearly points to us having a creator and coming originally from one man and one woman and it only being about 6000 years ago. Of course accepted secular science likes to theorize otherwise and present it as proven fact, but there are a lot of genetic markers in our DNA that point to less than 10,000 years since the first man and woman.

I do find topics like Atlantis and the ancient world to be fascinating, but I now see such things as likely being from the pre-flood world. They even find hand carved items from gold and other material trapped within coal.

Of course what little I just said can really trigger some secularists (notice I said some, not all) because they like to think of science as their justification to reject the Bible or even the idea that there is a God they will one day be judged by. They like to pretend that science has debunked the Bible but its just a big fat lie and there are many career scientists who will tell you this outside of academic circles. There are many scientific and NASA types who came to faith in God BECAUSE of what they learned in these fields.

I think a lot of secularists misunderstand that our faith is not based on theories and evidences of Genesis, the evidence for our faith really comes from Christ and the OT prophets and all that took place about 2000 years ago. The strong evidence we have for that and what the scriptures predicted about it beforehand is what really gives us the faith to trust Genesis and the rest of the early history in the OT.

Now with that being said:

I look forward to seeing the Netflix special on this because as I said I find stuff on ancient civilizations to be fascinating. I always find it interesting how the ancient alien guys are right in some respects about people coming down out of the sky, teaching man things and being worshiped as "gods". That's exactly what Genesis 6 attests to that a group of fallen angels came down to the earth and greatly corrupted man with their knowledge and interbreeding, creating a race of giants that were also worshiped as gods, and all of this led directly to the flood and God's judgment on the whole world.

I think of Atlantis as likely a great city and civilization of the pre-flood world. I also suspect there is a massive amount of archeological evidence of other ancient cities and civilizations under the ocean. I've seen some examples on Ancient aliens and other documentaries. There are even some sects of Christianity that really like to dig into early pre history from a Biblical worldview.

I really enjoy documentaries on ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, the pyramids, the pre flood world. I would like to see some much deeper stuff on the giants of the ancient world, but it still seems to be taboo on some level and they don't talk about it as much. Hopefully that changes.

It would also be nice to see more ancient aliens type documentaries in the context of Genesis 6, Enoch and the pre flood world as opposed to a more secular framework.

I agree Eric, it sounds very interesting and I enjoy those shows as well. I think too many Christians shy away from them altogether without considering that while they may not endorse the Biblical creation story, many of the possibilities they suggest are not inconsistent with the Bible and in fact harken back to actual Biblical events as you mentioned. I'd like to see one about ancient giants as well, there was a show on History several years ago called Search for the Lost Giants that you might enjoy, although it focused on the more recent past in this country.

Whats ironic is the majority of this show and the events he talks about coincide with an event like the Flood and possible causes.

yep, it's all tied into the Younger Dryas (post final ice age and sea level rising) coupled with engineering capacity/learning that was carried forward beforehand...

fwiw, Hancock makes some very powerful arguments that contradict the biblical version in 'time'...
