I'll be there December 31st. Huge matchup...

Should be a good one! I might go, but unfortunately it's the same time as WBB at home vs ODU so will probably stay home for that one. Haven't decided for sure yet though.

Marshall nearly blows a 19-point lead in the second half on the road at Duquesne (the Dukes cut it to four around the 5 minute mark), but the Herd bows its back and recovers and wins by 11 to improve to 8-1.

First of all, thank you for highlighting Southern Miss's general inability to properly give Marshall L's over the years.

One thing about our schedule is we don't have to wait long to see how we stack up in conference play - we have JMU on New Year's Eve afternoon, and Southern Miss on Jan. 12. Should be a fun couple weeks to start conference play.

southern miss 95 - lamar 59 ---- game time line was -19.5 (no play)

other than Haase, remember this name, too ... that feller has some serious 'stroke'

our boys were en fuego today ... especially on D ... I lost track of the sloppy play and turnovers on their end ... I think we scored 30+ pts off turnovers...

having said that, it'll be different in a few days when we head to their pad ... I'm betting it won't be the slaughter like it was this afternoon...

-----------

gonna watch Troy and Marshall games this evening ... go Belt!

2nd game in a row where we led by 20 or so for nearly the whole game and letting teams claw back late with sloppy late play. If we kept the effort up the whole game, we would have won by 30 and RMU might have been lucky to score 45 points.

"If" ain't what happened. I mentioned maintaining intensity a long time ago. I also said they'll probably win them all vs this schedule. I was wrong, they didn't. But they're doing what the schedule was designed to do. Make Dan look good and keep his job. Shame they're dumping the program by playing a string of nobodies in the process. SoS was at 251. Will drop after this game. It's shameful. But glad they won. The alternative is unthinkable.

We won but I'm not happy with it. Garbage performance.

Cajuns improve to 8-1 with a nice win over a decent Samford club tonight.

On a positive note, the new members are 32-9, so helping the conference there.

I think jmu will be one of the better teams in the belt, but I KNOW we would completely dominate any D3 league. I know this because we now have a large enough sample size. I can't wait until we get into conference play.

RE: Sun Belt Men's Basketball December 4th-10th
Well, again, before the season even began I said that Marshall had no business being voted 6th in the preseason poll. Several Marshall fans disagreed with me. (They didn't know the 7-1 guy was legit.)

Now, here we are and no one is squawking about Coach D. They're just enjoying the ride...which they should be

I'll tell you, the top half of this league is pretty damn good. Unfortunately, the bottom third is really, really bad.
