Bill Norton in Transfer Portal
Bill Norton, a defensive tackle for Georgia, has entered the transfer portal. He is originally from Memphis. Would the Tigers have a chance to entice him to come back home?

My son played with him at CBHS. He has talent. With his height, I wonder if he would be better suited for OL vs DL?

Zero chance he would transfer AND switch from DL to OL. Two big moves like that are highly unlikely. A lot of 2/3 deep players from SEC should be looking to transfer. Zero fun to “ride the pine.” At yr 3 in a program, coaches are recruiting over you and always promising PT to younger players. If we keep good relations with local HS coaches, we could really pick up some talent. It may be a step down in competition, but we are still D1. Kids can come home and be a hero, while playing in front of family.
We also have a need for 2 BIG DTs. Paired with Cam Ron Jackson, our middle D would have gotten significantly bigger. Plus looks like he has 2yrs of eligibility left.

The OL transfer is from GA Tech, not U of Georgia.

Georgia signed Norton as a member of the 2019 class out of Memphis, Tenn. He will have two seasons of eligibility left at whichever school he ultimately ends up.
