Possibly... A year of NIL money and the possibility of improving draft stock. He would have played a huge role on this year's team. You never know, he made the decision he felt was best for himself as he should of.

Of course this guy has no idea whether this would be true or not. If Lester was bringing the kind of performance he has delivered in the G-League, I'm certain his stock would have gone up significantly. This is especially true if it helped the Tigers to make a deep run in the tournament.

I do not buy that idea at all. He had some obvious deficiencies in his game last year. Not to say he was not a very good player for us but from an NBA perspective he had some significant weak areas. He clearly has worked very hard to improve in those areas. If played anywhere close to the level he is playing at he would have improved his draft stock. How much is the question. Would he have become a lottery pick? Definitely not. Could he have slid into the backend of the first round? Possibly.

Merely being selected in the draft would have been a huge improvement and an obvious increase in his stock. There is never any room for discussion with that guy and he will never nor has he ever admitted he was wrong about anything.
