Lester Quinones G League Stats
I hadn't looked him up since he got waived, so I wanted to see what happened with him. Turns out he has already played 12 games for the Santa Cruz Warriors. Looks like he's put up some decent numbers averaging 15.8/4.4/2.7 so far. I couldn't find a game log on the G League site, but I did find one on RealGM.

https://basketball.realgm.com/player/Les...7/D-League

He's also shooting an amazing 46.4% from three. About the only thing I could see as a negative is that his FT% should be better for how well he shoots.

RE: Lester Quinones G League Stats
I agree. He showed in college that would be his best shot at the league. The G League looks like it's giving him a better chance to show he can fill that role.

I hope he is able to play himself into the NBA but I think he is just too slow to play at the NBA level for his size…

Why do you say that? He is just what this team needs.

That is a good point. Maybe consistently being around better players will help him work on that area. I guess we'll see.

That's his biggest challenge. But if he's solid elsewhere, Kyle Anderson says slow sometimes works...

He would absolutely be killing it. Davis would be getting him as many wide open shots as he needs.

But… if he would have stayed another year in college basketball he would have gotten quicker…..04-cheers

It is like being short. It is not impossible to overcome but it makes getting to the NBA much tougher. He can shoot and is a very willing defender which are major advantages in his corner.

Lack of speed kept Larry Bird from being great. Same with John Stockton

I doubt he was quicker than Lester. And no that doesn’t mean I think Lester is anywhere near Stockton

Both Bird and Stockton made the very most of their limited athletic ability.
Stockton benefited from having Karl with him. Bird was sneaky on offense and sneaky dirty on defense. He had a move where he’d stand on the foot of the guy he was guarding. Rarely got called for it.
They both became all stars without outstanding athleticism.
