Almost. But theyres one spot open for the G5 for 2023, then its a real spot with a chance to play a home game for a 13-0 type team going forward in the 12 team playoff. Tulane beat the Big12 Champ. Big12 runner up made the playoff. Enough said.

Everybody is a bit down due to attrition from the transfer portal. Leaves some space to maneuver up if your G5 is in a good position. Toledo, BG, EMU, and Ohio should be in a spot to do so next year. We need to dig NIU and Akron out of the bottom 10, and have some 8 or 9 or 10 win teams to gain some spots. CUSA will be the bottom league by miles in 2023. MWC doesn't seem to be moving up. More room for us.

The record might not reflect it, but I felt Akron was much improved this year compared to last. We were competitive in most games this year compared to previous years that the game was over before the 4th quarter even started. I know I'm an Akron so it might sound biased, but I have been pretty cynical of the football program for a number of years now. Once Joe has time to turn over the roster and get his guys in, I expect Akron to move out of the basement and contend.

The MAC vs P5 is not an accurate snapshot as 92% of those games included a home field advantage for the P5 program.
