Nope at least from my understanding he’s now TE coach for Wisconsin but before then was interviewing for other coaching positions.

Lol, the same OC that didn’t game plan the talented TE’s UC had for the entire season? Find that kind of humorous.

https://wisportsheroics.com/report-badge...-te-coach/

Yeah, he's in Wisconsin as the new TE's coach. My guess is he is going to be looking for jobs as a HC, OC or QB coach elsewhere next year. This is a holdover until he can get into a better situation.

He has already been a finalist at WMU and Kent State in the last month, it's only a matter of time IMO. He's probably the next man up in a few years, one way or another.

Unless their new OC, Longo, leaves it's very probably a one-and-done year for Gino at Wi as TE coach. I'd be quite surprised if he's able to go from TE coach directly into even a MACish-level HC job. At least externally, he just took a not-insignificant step backward career-wise IMO. Best case next step for him is OC or passing coordinator somewhere else or maybe a high level QB coach job.

For his sake, I hope he isn't coming back to UC as OC this year because it wasn't offered rather than some sense of pride, or (misplaced) loyalty to Fickell, etc.

I agree, and he probably does too...that's why he is going for every job under the sun at this point.

From his GM bio at WKU, here are the job duties:

"Grant leads the recruiting efforts for the Hilltoppers, and is responsible for managing the construction of the roster. He spearheads the identification and evaluation of prospects from high school, junior college and the transfer portal. In addition to his recruiting responsibilities, he is also the NFL liaison for the Hilltoppers."

I'll take it. Assistants pool was increased for this very thing. Still need an OC.

If this story is credible it would seem to be a brilliant play on the part of Satterfield and UC. I guess we'll know soon if Grant is onboard with the Bearcats or simply gaining leverage with osu to get a raise or title upgrade.

Maybe he has all those magic O$U state of Ohio recruiting contacts that everybody was worried that Satterfield did not have.

Exactly this. Hiring Grant, assuming is goes through, would be transformative for the UC football program in the sense that it would mark a transition to the new age of backend support for a Power 5 team. Folks who were throwing their hands up in frustration for Satterfield not spending millions on coordinators and position coaches need to look at that extra assistant pool money less in those terms and more like this:

If Satterfield was serious he'd hire one of us as an analyst

Good luck with Satterfield. UL was super happy to dump him on someone else. I simply cannot understand the hire. UC could have done better.

Thanks, they hired a worse coach to replace him and were going to give him another year anyway so if they were desperate to get rid of him they apparently didnt have the money to do it. The Louisville athletic department is a joke that whored their way into the ACC and is paying their dues for it now.

If you subtract the his record during the COVID years, his record lucks OK to me. Many great coaches around the country had down years during the COVID yearS, and most of them got a free pass for it. I guess CSS didn't earn that?

Agreed on both of the replies above, plus the Commonwealth of Kentucky is mostly bereft of highly rated high school football talent. If Cunningham enables Satterfield to get even more elite recruiting talent on this staff to pursue Ohio's best (as has been speculated here about the GM position), Satterfield could far exceed his performance at Louisville.

As to the original post, if Toledo is at all serious about college football they'll need to find a lifeboat off that sinking ship, the SS M.A.C.

I've caught myself doing the same thing...looking at the sensible Honda Accord in just the right lighting from a distance in the parking garage it looks just like a Tesla Model S.

There was one guy out there. So far he’s recruited the #3 transfer class to the worst P5 program there is.
