This is getting kinda ridiculous. 508 entries (so far) today. Some notable additions: Carson Steele (Ball State), Cephus (Kent State star WR) and some 6’8” Kent OT. Anybody think this is getting a bit out of hand?

Way more names in than places to go. A lot of guy going to be left holding the bag wishing they stayed.

I think I heard recently that somewhere around 40% of last year’s portal entries never ended up finding a squad. I guess they’re just screwed then.

How many of those players would have been off their team anyway? Attrition on college football rosters was already high, very high among players struggling to see the field, before the portal was even an idea. That's something I never see brought up when this topic comes up.

Most post season rosters are now completely fluid. Unless players are in love with their staff and scheme they gone.

This is not good for the players. Probably a third lose their college educations. And for what collegial benefit? We get a free agency period to talk about?

Well said, you are empowering kids to make choices. While lessons will get learned at what cost? Can you imagine being 18 or 19, even 20 and being offered 6 figures? That’s too much to handle.

Yes, heaven forbid these adults be compensated for their skills.

I mean, clearly every time NBA, NHL, MLB players get drafted at 18 and given a huge signing bonus they end up crashing out of the league and out on their a$$es, right??

Yeah kinda think they need to set a limit to the amount of times you can transfer or force kids to stay at a school for at least 2 seasons. Grass isn't always greener. Teaching these kids to run away from their problems isn't good.

They only get one immediate transfer, though. After that, they have to wait out a year or apply for some kind of exemption for immediate reinstatement. Dudes are gonna be 30 before they graduate.
