Yo AT, where do they keep the South Land and Gulf South conference titles?

Feels good to not be 5-7 for a 4th year in a row.

Chip Lindsey couldn't have dreamed of going 11-2 with an SBC title.

The only thing I'll give Chip Lindsey credit on, is that he didn't leave the talent level bare and he didn't bring in many trouble makers. He actually recruited pretty well. That's one reason Sumrall was able to make such a quick turnaround... he had good talent to work with and didn't have to weed out low character players.

Lindsey definitely was a good recruiter. He also went 3-0 vs South Alabama so I'll give him credit there too. He's just not a great Xs and Os guy nor does he have leadership charisma that oozes from Sumrall.

My question is, what is the small trophies at the very top? Must be special.

Ya one of my friends thought it was broke. But that’s what the Nola bowl trophy use to look like… and I believe the older smaller ones at the top are the D2 national championships

I think the DG Bowl trophy looks good too, but I can’t help wondering if the crystal bowl is an example of something they actually sell in a Dollar General.

Whoever designed that trophy in the top left corner needs to go back to the drawing board

That was the New Orleans Bowl trophy from the early 2000s it’s the
super dome on a platform same as the ones at the bottom but not that casing around and over it.

The Nattys are on the second shelf. I do not know what the smaller trophies on top are, but it could be Natty game MVP?

USM needs one of them Belt trophies...

You act like it was hard to go undefeated against Steve Campbell. Our SBC record was dreadful under Coach Campbell. Here is how he fared:

Against App State, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Louisiana, New Mexico State, Troy, and ULM he was 1-16. All these teams but ULM went undefeated against him. The ULM win came in ULM's dreadful 2020 season where they didn't lead for a second of any game.
App State 0-2
Georgia Southern 0-3
Georgia State 0-2
Louisiana 0-3
New Mexico State 0-1
Troy 0-3
ULM 1-2

We broke even against Coastal Carolina 1-1

There was a recent thread by cheifsfan titled "Thank God for ULM." Well for Steve Campbell it was Thank God for Arkansas State and Texas State. Those are the only teams he came out ahead on.

Texas State 2-1

6 total SBC wins. 19 losses. Average score was a 32-20 loss. Enjoy the streak, but Lindsey was a terrible coach and probably doesn't deserve recognition for doing what pretty much every other team also did.

I agree with Skully. South had some down years. Oh wait, at 76-85, they have had a down existence.
