Will McCall follow Chadwell?
If Chadwell goes to Liberty as predicted, will McCall follow him there? The two have had a great run at Coastal, but I think most everyone sees a decline in CCU coming. The NIL money could be huge for MCCall while Chadwell would be looking at $4 mil per year.

RE: Will McCall follow Chadwell?
McCall has some buzz as a potential draft pick this year. Was #2 in Pass Efficiency in FBS (Centeio was #5)

If he doesn't go pro, I think he would have far better options than either Coastal or Liberty.

My bet is NFL or Coastal with NFL the most likely. He pisses teal, he seems very loyal to Coastal so if he decides to go to the money I think he'll do so in the NFL.

He’s gone, and will focus preparing for the NFL now. I doubt he even plays in the bowl game if Chadwell is gone. He has nothing to gain, and everything to lose if he gets injured in a bowl game.

My guess he’s a late 2nd or mid-3rd round draft choice, but he may slip to the 6th or 7th round.

Agreed. If he is declaring for the draft then he will opt out of the Bowl game.

He’s not anyone near nfl caliber.

He will enter the portal and transfer to another program for his final year

I think Coastal's performance today hurt his draft stock some. Playing in a bowl and getting blown out again would definitely not help perceptions.

I agree his performance wasn’t that good today, but what’s to say his bowl performance will be any better? And he could get hurt…which I suppose would make his decision to return and play one more year in college easier.

Whatever McCall decides he’s a middle round pick at best, and possibly a late (6th or 7th) round kinda guy.

We've got them on the schedule in '31 I think? Not that excited about it. The only reason to play them would be to shut up some of their fans. They struggled to beat Gardner Web this year for pete's sake. W&M crushed GW, and would give us a better game. Just tired of their inflated egos. Throwing diploma mill money around doesn't make a school great.

Chadwell minus McCall seems like a fraud. But he will post a winning record in FCS level CUSA no doubt. It would be hard not to.

I’m obsessed with calling out BS. I think Chadwell is an average coach at best and highly overrated. There should have been no “sweepstakes” for his services. McCall is a real deal elite Sun Belt QB, but he can’t play defense too. I want to play Liberty to expose Chadwell once again and also to prove we are the dominant team in Virginia. Liberty loves to claim they’re the better team and the best way to settle that is running up the score on them.

I agree...

If I were Bourne I would want a Liberty away game only and contract bank for a day trip for the team and fans

I think Liberty would go for it, I think Liberty badly wants Virginia teams in LBurg

All just my opinion

So take a pay game from Liberty instead of a P5 game? Thats retarded. I'd much rather play more games like UNC and Louisville. And we can't take more than one pay game each year and keep 6 home games.

How do you get 6 home games then?

Both remaining OOC games would have to be at home. The schedule math doesn't work unless we buy more G5 games.

Bourne has said we will host a G5 or P5 every year. Not sure what your argument is? Combine that with an FCS game and 4 conference home games and that would equal 6

We can't take two pay games in a season and maintain a 6 game home schedule. Not sure how people fail to understand this.

The standard formula OOC for G5 schools is: 1 FCS home, 1 G5 home, 1 G5 away, 1 P5 pay game. Sometimes you can work a 2-1 with a P5, a P5 1-1 is somewhat rare.

It would be the dumbest move ever to take a buy game from Liberty. We've got them scheduled as a home and home already around '33-34 Thats enough for me.

I would agree that taking a pay game from Liberty might not be smart going forward in the sense that it would set a precedent that they wouldn’t do a 1-1 in the future. But, if they are willing to pay, it is absolutely plausible to schedule a P5 away (pay), Liberty away (pay), G5 home, and FCS. That fits exactly into the formula you described as the standard formula for a G5 school PLUS we get paid rather than a 1-1 for the G5 school. Not sure what the issue with this would be.

Eight conference games, 4 home and 4 road which leaves you with 4 OOC games to do whatever works for your program. Two $$ OOC games on the road still leaves you with 2 OOC games to schedule at home. And if the money is right for the road games you can use that money on buying the right home games.

You have to think of this in terms of multiple years. The only way you get to 6 home games each year while taking two pay games, is to also have two home buy games.

We got "lucky" MTSU was willing to take a buy game from us, and it was for ~700k. That really happened because they also got paid for a P5 cancellation and didn't have many other options for a game. It's far from typical.

Taking a buy game from Liberty to try to purchase another G5 game is silly. And it's a bad look to boot. It would take extraordinary circumstances to make this worthwhile.
