Agreed, I'm surprised it didn't get overturn.

First the no call on the fumble and then then the retaliator slap by 59. Then the initial no call for the TD. Had to start wondering where those refs are from.

These refs have money on Toledo. What horrible officiating. I hope Ohio stomps the Rockettes.

Why are there commercials for the game DURING the game?

You mean the stop hitting me in the face and get off me push? Yeah… and he was looking right at it. At least it didn’t matter as Ohio still scored on that drive.

Edit: To be clear not why Ohio lost. (That would be the poor tackling and not controlling the LoS. Getting beat on the line like they did playing a 3rd string QB wasn’t a recipe for success.

The Rockets have executed! Did pick the Bobcats since they had some mojo going in, been over 50 years and see a lot similarity between Ohio and my team. Do like Toledo and a number of other teams. Will wait for the end of the game. Finn has been great in the second half as well as their defense.

Congratulations to the Rockets!!! and to all those going bowling.

Kind of feel bad for Ohio. They were probably happy not to have to play NIU for once but alas their dreams were crushed by a different West division opponent.

Roark missing was huge factor. Ohio got too conservative with offfense. Toledo stopped the run. Ohio defense did good job, but can't win with just 7 points. Inexperienced passer and bad int changed momentum in the game. Toledo defense was strong. Ohio good year to reach MAC title game.

RE: 2022 MAC Championship
Congrats to the Rockets! OU still looking for their first MAC title since the Apollo moon landing.

Somewhat related note: all coaches who have won the MACC twice in the past 20 years (Kelly, Doeren, Carey) were hired away at some point. In fact six of the seven who won multiple division titles were hired away (the three above plus Hoeppner, Babers, and Leipold); Solich was the exception but he could've definitely gotten another power conference job if he wanted to. Candle isn't on many P5 coaching search lists, but there is precedent for someone like him to get hired away if the coaching carousel gets extra crazy.

Official attendance of 15,550; disappointing given that it featured two of our best fan bases. I suppose Toledo fans weren't motivated by their 7-5 record and two straight losses.

Only 15000 Attendance not great, but like the Saturday noon time slot for MAC title game on TV. Ratings probably pretty good.

I overestimated the crowd, but like literally no fans outside of the two were there. Our side was still solid. Far better than NIU or Buffalo or Ball State crowds of recent.

Do Toledo fans want to still fire Candle now that he has gotten them two MAC titles and never had a losing season?

I still like the Friday night time slot on ESPN. Going up against the PAC 12 (excluding this year) is normally not much competition. C-USA now also plays on Friday night, but who is seriously watching that mess? I suppose Noon Saturday on ESPN may turn on more TV's, but the MAC was also up against the Big 12 and later the MWC, so there is more competition.

I’m sorry Bobcats — I was pulling for you as if you were my own kin.

Toledo is the worst - “Fans” who tried to organize a MAC Championship boycott because their program isn’t vintage Boisé State. They deserve nothing good.

Well detroit news did nothing to market this. Plethora of scUM articles and none on the MAC.
WAC does not use NFL stadium. It looked cold but much better atmosphere.
I'd rather have the MAC use their own venues with 85% attendance then 20% attendance in a NFL facility.

RE: 2022 MAC Championship
And go figure, people on here would knock NIU for the attendance in this game even though we usually brought a larger contingent than our east division foe and we are the furthest team away. It's 5 hrs from DeKalb without stopping and an hour forward time change. So it's basically 6 hrs away for NIU and we played most of these championship games when it was on a weekday.

Toledo is only an hr away.

I’d still prefer our weather-controlled environment for a championship game. Yesterday was nasty cold and damp with the 50 mph wind gusts. Or risk a type of weather like the WMU-CMU game. Fine for regular season but not for all the marbles.
