Btw, I sure wish we would’ve had those foam SBC crowns last year.

You realize that none of the above matters if your starters check out mentally right?

Acknowledging that doesn't take anything away from Troy.
“Starters check out” sounds like an excuse and obviously nothing that can be validated. Does that cover this week or last week as well? Because last weeks excuse was resting for this week, all of that rest from the bye week (canceled game) and last week should’ve had Coastal fully rested and ready to go. It’s ok to admit you got beat by better teams.

Ok, if you truly think Coastal is as bad as they've been the last week 2 weeks, I don't know what to tell you. You should probably be questioning all the other teams Coastal has beaten this season. Coastal even happened to beat two schools that your beloved team lost to.

It's all common sense pal.
Or maybe they were not as good as you thought prior to the past 2 weeks. You got breaks early on and scraped by in most games before you faced the 2 best SBC teams that really should’ve been playing today.

Any Coastal fan will tell you we are significantly worse than the last two seasons. We were still finding ways to win games though. The wheels have fallen off this team at the end though.

Both JMU and Troy has lost to schools Coastal has beaten. I shouldn't be able to say that if this team has been as bad all season as you are attempting to make them out to be.

Yeah I sure wish UCF would turn it on. This kind of domination and winning streak would mean there's some hope imo. But only if UCF wins.

ESPN giving SBC some love. Championship game announcers saying Troy deserves a look for NY6 game. SBC should be the best G5 conference next year.

Troy is a good team and should beat Coastal but if you don't think a coach leaving won't do a number on team...well I hope you have someone to tell you to wear clothes in the morning. If its badly handled by the coach a team will fall apart. Now if you are just busting Coastal chops go at it. Most of us know JMU have some trash fans....COGS
Sorry. I don’t buy that. Coaches leave all the time. Teams…programs…should have enough coping mechanisms to sustain it. This beat down 2 weeks in a row show that they are not the team people thought they were.

It happens a lot. Not every time of course. I wonder what the records are in bowl games for teams who lost their coaches. I know we won two using the same assistant for both.

Stupid that the FBS transition exists.

Stupid that we have the early signing day in December and coaching staffs like Coastal's are likely thinking about everything but this game (not fair to the players under the coach with 1 foot out the door).

Nah, that's just typical announcer lip service....

But keep building off of our success from this year, don't have the top teams that win out of conference lose during the season, and we will definitely be in the hunt going forward.

Yeah UCF is down 17 now. Doubtful they come back. It happens. Had we beat App State we might be in that spot with Tulane having 2 losses but if ifs and buts were candy and nuts life would be a party and I am still so proud of our accomplishments this season after the last 3 years.

My last word on this. I’m not saying it does not happen. It may also happen somewhat often.

What I am saying is that when it does happen that’s a pretty bad reflection on a program.

It’s an excuse/reason I’d be real reluctant to use.

Hoplites need to go smoke UTSA and send a message if they end up paired with them in a bowl.

Yeah I absolutely hate the early signing day. Really really ****** way to have a good season derailed and it happens to multiple teams every year. But as long as that early signing day exists the coaches and the teams looking to hire them don't really have much choice. If I remember correctly Craig Bohl always shut down anything until after the playoffs, but that's rare and can really hinder a coach's opportunities.

Of course I hate the stupid transition rule too, but the early signing day hurts multiple teams every year and can keep hurting the same teams multiple times.

Ehh. The culture of our program has seemed perfectly fine both before and after this.

Sun Belt needs depth. We have outstanding starting lineups but with a few injuries the wheels come off. Winning OC early and falling off late may be something we deal with for a bit.

One more reminder before the Sun Belt football season is over: ODU sucks.
