Watkins was wearing a knee brace and Jones was dinged up at the end. Can’t afford those for next week.

Bradley dealt with injuries throughout his HS career, so, tough to see him dealt another blow.

Looked like the Gardner-Webb QB was taken away by ambulance right after halftime.

Best wishes to both.

Keep the momentum of the day going, basketball team.

It was some old guy by the beer tent who went away in the ambulance.

I'd imagine so. You can't keep a healthy Imoh off the field

Imoh was in street clothes on the sideline.

7,100 in attendance. Not bad, considering there were maybe only 100 GW fans, and the weather probably kept some people away. Student section was packed

Tribester, book your flight to Bozeman NOW!

Great game in rotten weather (at least for the first 1.5 quarters). I thought the top starters should have come out earlier; the Tribe later lost two players to injuries.

Saw something at Zable that I have never seen before in 48 years of attending games at Cary....the wave. Not just one wave, it must have been about 10 waves (all initiated by the student section, who were absolutely stellar this game -- kudos to them)! After the third or fourth wave the crowd was actually doing them pretty well.

It seemed like Cam Newton was basically acting as our hype man.

Also meant to highlight Ethan Chang on kickoffs. Only 2 were returned and only 1 did not go into the end zone. He needs to keep that up next week, for sure!

The line drive he put in the endzone, despite the 15 yard penalty, was especially impressive.

They even tried a slow motion wave. Maybe that was to help get the west side to participate.

The upper deck of the west side was definitely participating.

Yesterday at the game I was really impressed with our student section. Three jampacked sections of loud and engaged students. This morning, I’m watching the replay on ESPN+ and I’m super happy about how well they showed out on the broadcast. Kudos to the student section and to anyone and everyone who played a part in getting the students to the game, ESPECIALLY this close to exams.

Impressed with true freshman QB, Tyler Hughes. Future of our QB stable is very bright.

Impressed as well. Also extremely excited about QB commit Noah Brannock. Looks like a gamer and a gunslinger.

RE: Gardner-Webb
I was looking at the YouTube highlights available on the CAA website. The replay seems to confirm what I thought when I watched it live: Lester definitely veered away from the sideline towards the middle of the field on his long run. The defender barely caught his ankle as it was. If Lester had stuck straight down the sideline then perhaps the defender barely misses his ankle and it is a TD. Maybe Lester thought that he had a better chance of avoiding being pushed out of bounds by veering inwards. No knock either way; it was a great play!

I was impressed the guy caught him. Lester is a state champion track guy. Not often that you see him caught when he has daylight.

Lester veered to the middle to avoid the first guy chasing him. No chance he saw the other guy in pursuit until the last second.
