RE: Final Regular Season Polls
No joy for Troy…The good news is, if they beat CCU next week, they should break in the top 25, because Clemson should beat Carolina in the ACC championship game, opening up a spot in the bottom of the polls.

RE: Final Regular Season Polls
I just wonder if USA had beaten Troy where an 11-1 USA would be ranked in relation to UCF and Tulane. Or really, USA could have won both games it lost. Where would we be ranked if we didn’t drop a 1 point game @ UCLA or our 4-point loss to Troy? Much of South Alabama’s schedule was weak and that’s what’s keeping us out now.

There is a very real scenario of Troy and UTSA winning their conference championships, both getting ranked in the 22-25 range, and getting matched up in the Nola bowl. I would be over the moon for that bowl game.

Nobody's ranked but Troy, USA, Coastal and JMU are all getting votes. What a kick in the teeth.

RE: Final Regular Season Polls
All year the SBC West hasn't gotten the respect they've deserved in the polls. The East I'm not too surprised to see beat each other down too much to get anyone ranked, figured we'd have years like that but hopefully most years we'll have someone stand out and grab the CFP spot. Plus of course gaining respect all around so that we can see rankings like the AAC is currently getting despite 10-2 and 9-3 records.

I think USM and Louisiana will be improved next year so hopefully that helps both divisions get their due respect and get Troy and USA ranked if they're 10-2.

Overall though it's still great to see so many SBC teams receiving votes at the end of the regular season even if I do think they should all probably be a little bit higher.

Gotta win your out of conference games to help the Sunbelt get higher in the rankings. That's why I think people who root for sunbelt teams to lose out of conference are idiots. They don't understand how a weaker ooc makes the whole sunbelt conference weaker. The Sunbelt going 1-4 against the AAC future teams does not help.

If UCF beats Tulane and Troy beats Coastal… that is a tough call. I honestly think Troy is the slightly better team, but I think UCF would be picked for the Cotton Bowl.

With UCF winning yesterday, it's a done deal. There's definitely honest debate about Troy being more worthy, but as to what can/will happen? That door is shut for this season. The AAC championship game is between 2 ranked teams that will both be higher than Troy, if Troy is ranked at all, in the upcoming CFP rankings. The AAC champ will have another ranked win while Coastal would be an unranked opponent.

Guys, you have to just accept the G5 hierarchy. AAC is a notch higher than the fun belt.

You mean the G5 hierarchy that a few years ago said Conference USA was better than the Sunbelt? I aint accepting crap. The goal is to always be better than the AAC and I think the Sunbelt is moving fast toward that goal. Then the goal moves to trying to compete, then surpass the next conference. Always rising.

AAC will be below us soon. Just like Conference USA.

I'd be happy with that.
