I know JMU doesn't understand how bowls work, but they are definitely bowling.

Success at the G5 level could be measured by the number of P5 coaches come through your programs actually.

Happy for Satterfield, was worried about him after six games. He'll always be a Mountaineer, I expect when we both retire we'll frequent similar restaurants.

We had a nice streak of winning seasons and bowl appearances before a certain coach f'ed us...

That season I went through several handles of whiskey.. Not bottles.. Handles... One game I cracked a fresh handle and before the end (cause we could've won) I had drained 3/4 of it.. The next day was hell..

I spent bowl season off the whiskey and on the beer.. Then in January I dried out until football season..

I'll admit that I don't know the App State fanbase's thoughts on Satterfield. Seems like most of the App fans that come to the JMU boards have a negative view on him.

Satt walked on at App and led them to an 11-0 record as QB in 1995. Guy wouldn’t be in the top 20 QBs from a talent perspective but had all the intangibles.

Was QB and OC that instituted the spread in 2004 which provided a step change in the program winning three FCS titles and the all-time upset.

Was told if you want to the HC here you need experience outside, spent three years away.

Then led arguably the best FCS to FBS transition ever winning four bowl games and three straight SBC titles.

Fans that don’t like Satt must have something personal against the guy or don’t understand college football. He gave 20 years to the program.

I'm sure some feel that way, but they're a distinct minority. Me, personally, I could go for some of those 11-2 seasons that end in bowl victories.

I don’t know any that have negative feelings towards him. Nobody’s perfect however, so I’m sure there a few alums/fans with hurt feelings.

True, App could still get in according to our AD. But with coaching staff in flux it would be "interesting" were the bid to happen.
