Oregon State - great year for them
Oregon State has won double digit games 2 times in their entire 105 year history. If they win their bowl this year, it will be the 3rd. Hats off to those guys. They've played a tough schedule, too, including all 4 Pac teams ahead of them in the standings.

I wonder how much all of the "the Pac's dead, everyone else is joining the B1G/big 12 but OSU and WSU are joining the MWC" type comments have been put on their bulletin board this year? That just feels like a coach's dream motivational scenario.

Yes it's been a great year for the Beavers. Jonathan Smith is a good coach and is doing a good job building his program. If you didn't know, coach Smith was Oregon states QB back in one of those 10 win years, 2000. The Beavers beat the hell out of ND in the Fiesta bowl that season.

You're getting me pumped for 2025, or 24, whatever, when we play Texas again. One of our best yells is "beat the hell outta tu". I actually live much closer to Austin, so I can make the game easily at either venue... :)

I thoroughly enjoyed watching that Fiesta Bowl stomping of Notre Dame, didn't know that the current Beavers coach was on that team. Good for him and OSU, always good to see schools who rarely get great years enjoy one!

...honestly, I think OSU AND Wazzou would be GREAT fits in the BIG XII... better than some of those 'four corner' schools... and with the BIGXII flirting with Gonzaga, there MAY be some talk of getting these two in as well, I know Wazzou (Pullman) is close to Spokane, and Corvalis is...well, not TOO far away...

None. You could see them coming in 2019. I was at the Rose Bowl in 2019 when Oregon State beat UCLA, 48-31. They were in their second year under their head coach Johnathan Smith, and they looked better than they had in the past few years. Smith coached under Chris Petersen at Boise State and at Washington and he got his start in coaching under Mike Riley. Smith was a four-year starter at Oregon State from 1998 through 2001 and played for both Riley and Dennis Erickson. In the 2000 season, he led Oregon State to their best season in history, an 11-1 record and a 41-9 victory in the Fiesta Bowl over Notre Dame. They ended up ranked #4 in the nation and Smith was the MVP in the Fiesta Bowl.

I tell you all of that because Smith can coach, and he is dedicated to Oregon State. He learned under Petersen how to find and develop talent. I expect them to keep getting better. He is the perfect coach for that school.

Agreed. I will say this also though, after hearing so much about San Diego State- I kinda hope that they get in as well.

I agree to all three : )

Those 3 (WSU, OSU, and SDSU), plus the "4 corners" (AZ, AZ state, Utah, and Colorado) seem like a great combination of additions to the B12.

Once TX and OK leave, that would mean 19 members - Add your favourite up and coming football school for #20 : )

Yep. Then 2001 is when Fresno State emerged as a perennial power and beat the Beavers.

Beavers finally beat Bulldogs this season. And that was when Haener and others were healthy. So that was a very big win for the Beavers. And they’re (OSU) probably here to stay for seasons to come. Hopefully Bulldogs and Beavers start a little rivalry. But I doubt it will happen.

You guys are high on my list of potential Pac backfills in a "UO and UW leaves but everyone else stays scenario", which is maybe 25% today but closer to 50/50 by 2036. So you might be playing OSU a whole lot more in the future.
