It's finally Kerry Coombs time!!!! 03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao

05-mafia05-mafia05-mafia05-mafia05-mafia

Kerry is now the interim head coach. Only in Cincinnati could the we have Coombs at head coach a Prater at QB.

Fickell was a great salesman of the program to cincy area kids and he did a great job recruiting. I wish him well. Next!

If Cincinnati wins their bowl and the players rally around Coombs to be the next HC, Cunningham damn well better ignore them.

From Cincinnati.com:

Quote:Sources confirmed to The Enquirer that Wisconsin has reached an agreement with Fickell and is expected to name the 49-year-old Ohio State alumnus and former Buckeyes player and longtime assistant its next head coach as early as Sunday.

Fickell informed Cincinnati that he was leaving, according to sources.

Hopefully Cunningham identifies a new coach before the bowl game, but maybe I'm way too optimistic.

It would have made more sense for him to leave then, unless he has internal doubts about how long it will take for UC to be at the top of the Big 12.

Wisconsin is probably a better job than Michigan State. Top dog in the state (only dog) compared to being in Michigan’s shadow.

Maybe but the last two coaches at UW (who weren't fired) left there to go to Arkansas and Oregon St. so it must not be so glorious.

Barry Alvarez is the AD. By most accounts he can't keep his hands off the FB program. Hell, he's named himself the HC a couple of times since he "retired" from coaching.

If Fickell wants to work for that, then good luck with that. It'll be like coaching for the Cowboys under Jerry Jones or trying to manage the Yankees under George Steinbrenner.

If you look at Herman's resume, most of his time has been spent in B12 territory so there's a lot of synergy there. Makes sense plus he has Cincinnati roots.

Never had a losing season. He's still young. 47. Offensive minded, Currently on an NFL staff, so maybe he's picked up a few things.

For the record I'm not opposed to Herman but outside of being born in Cincinnati I don't see anything else indicative of roots too the area. And according to Wikipedia he was largely raised in CA

Recruits like Tarzan and knows Ohio and the entire B12 footprint very well.

I think Fickell knows its OSU/Michigan and everybody else. No coach who wants to win should go to the B1G. If they do, it's just for a payday.

I said it when it happened that paying him $5M after he was courted at $8-9M was a slap in the face. Now it comes back to bite us. We saved a few bucks and ruined the program for years. So shortsighted.

It has nothing to do with money...all things similar, he would still be heading to Wisconsin. It's what he wanted, to get back to the Big Ten and make one of those programs into a national winner.

Hopefully he identifies one today. In the world of the portal, this has to move really quickly.

The sooner people realize that there is no such thing as loyalty, the sooner they'll be able to just enjoy this for what it is.

He absolutely would be near the top of my list. If he replicated is Texas results here it would be a huge win for UC. The guy never had a losing conference record and was ranked in top 25 his last 3 years. 7 to 8 wins during years and 10 wins in a good year will absolutely be good enough for Cincinnati.

I never wish anyone well who voluntarily leaves us. I will laugh every time Wisconsin loses.

bull****. He was going to the Big12 with a chance to compete for the league title. Wisconsin on most accounts here is worse than B12 Cincy. We disrespected the **** out of the guy. How else do you explain the forever talk before the $5M and then gone in the first year after. Cincy bigtime let me tell ya.

Herman
Minter
Urban
Hartline

Those seem like the obvious phone calls right? Urban might not be on the list but I would not be disappointed if he was the guy. Recruits would slobber over him.
