You felt the crowd was small? I actually thought it was better than normal minus the students being out on break. My the two sidelines were pretty full. I had people sitting around me in seats that haven’t had butts in them in 2 years.

That’s how I saw it too. The crowd in the Big Blue Room was the biggest of the season thus far.

I did think it was small. Not that I studied it but may 50%? Not many seats around me were occupied.

Absolutely!!

VIP room was also full.
Crowd was just short of 5000 without students. Largest of the year. With students probably would have been close to 6500. I’ll be surprised if NSU is under 7000

RE: East Carolina
One last comment (one that slipped my mind 'til this morning): I've never seen such a chaotically vocal set of assistant coaches.

They were all dressed alike - - dark slacks and white long-sleeve pullover shirts. There were five assistants (in addition to the miniature head coach). It appeared to me as if each of the assistant coaches was assigned responsibility for a particular player on the floor, and all of them simultaneously were yelling instructions whenever the play was down at there end of the court. It was odd.

One of the sub-criticisms of Coach Jones has been about his micromanaging during play to the extent that it interferes with our players' ability to get into an efficient flow. (This criticism does not seem as apparent so far this season.) But whatever distraction Coach Jones may create for our team is nothing compared to the noise that was coming from the ECU bench.

Epic Applause

I did my part in being as loud as I could when cheering on this exciting team!

Im not sure who all saw it, but Jenkins had another highlight dunk in this game. Probably the best one so far.

The kid is going to be special. I actually think he might be our best defender right now too.

My eyes tells me he could be. Either way, he's a really good defender.

But, the stats say its Long and Fields. Im not surprised by Long, somewhat surprised by Fields, but he does work very hard on the defensive end.

The funny thing is Charles Smith grades very defensively every single year. I never really think of him as a good defender, but we now have several hundred possessions saying that he grades very well defensively.

Imo and Jenkins also grade out well.

TSG doesn't seem like a great defender, but I've noticed that his stats have increased defensively over the past couple weeks. The only poor defenders so far this year have been Stines, Williams, and Stanley. I think everyone expected Stanley to struggle defensively, but his offense is too good.

We may need to get more minutes for Smith and less for Stines.

Stines looks great in practice...

Charles has been much better in games.

IMO Smith > Stines. He has looked good driving the basket as well as shooting. I can't remember the last time Stines hit a 3.
