But no, it's been fine for me.

You leave him alone!

You do seem to be in a minority when it comes to Reghi. But who cares we won.

I stand with Fallsdog

There were two reasons I had the sound off on the football game. One reason was the basketball game. The second reason has been heretofore mentioned in this thread.

Am I the only one irritated by this game? Yes, I'm glad we won. And 5 wins is still above our yearly average win total. However, couldn't we do this against Ball State or Miami too? This season is just so upsetting. OU and BG going bowling. This is what I deserve for getting high hopes for Kent Football. I should know better.

I'm not irritated by the game, but the season as a whole was a definite disappointment. I really didn't know exactly what to expect, but I did expect a winning season, or at the very least a .500 season. Of course, when the non-conference schedule pretty much guarantees entering conference play two games below .500, it makes it tougher.

The positive note from the Buffalo game in my opinion,
Prior to Coach Lewis arriving what would the chances of Kent State having a 4th team QB lead the team to victory.
Additionally having the team go on the road to Buffalo with no chance of a bowl game and rally for a victory.
I share the frustration of many not going to a bowl game and "winnable games" that were lost this year. A couple of times during the game the announcers commented about how the defense play looked improved. Maybe it was because we finally had the starting safeties playing?
Both Washington and Georgia are playing in their conference championship games next week, Oklahoma had a down year. Point being the MAC schools that are going bowling only play 2 money games per season.
So maybe some of the frustration should be directed to the fund-raising section of the athletic department and the inability to generate revenue,

RE: 2022 Football Week 12 @ Buffalo
Ended up watching the second half of the game late while doing some Christmas shopping online. Got pretty boring so was only half paying attention until Ulatowski led them on his first TD drive. Really exciting way to end the season. Love the fact that Lewis teams don't quit. My one complaint is where was this kid all year? I realize he's a true freshman walk-on but the offense under Kargman was abismal. Maybe this was an out of body experience and he wasn't showing this in practice? He added the threat of the QB running which is completely non-existent when Kargman is in there. That's the biggest problem with him in my eyes. Our offense is designed around a dual threat QB but when Schlee comes out we have to play a different offense. So to see our 4th string QB come in and successfully operate our offense was a little frustrating. In his quarter of play Ulatowski had 21 rushing yards. Kargman finished the season with -27. It will be interesting to hear how he looks through spring practices but I have to imagine he's got a strong chance of being put on scholarship and being considered for the backup position after that.

I agree, Proud pilot. I have mixed feelings. I'm disappointed because I expected more, but I'm also thrilled for the reasons you mentioned. A 5-7 record is one heck of a lot better than so many years with three or fewer wins. Plus, they hung pretty darn well with #1 Georgia and beat Ohio. Of course, when they beat Ohio I had no idea that Ohio would have the season they've had. And they beat Akron which is always a plus.

Wanted to say something about Cooper but wanted to wait for the season to be over to not jinx it. One of his best skills is easy to go unnoticed... Durability. Kent has played 30 games since he's been on campus and he's played 30 games. Averaging 20 touches per game. Hopefully he can keep that going for two more years (and those 2 years be here).

4 straight seasons of at least .500 MAC play has been uncommon at KSU. The tide is changing and changed. Bright days ahead.

I agree with comment of 4th string QB leading a team to a victory as well.

What was the deal with Williams? They made a nice duo last year, X was listed on the 2 deep every week but never played. Will he be back for another season. Cooper is great, then Bradford can smash and adding Garcia and a burner like Williams makes for a great rotation which I think we should do more of to keep the D on their toes with fresh backs out there.

Williams was injured. The below is from an article dated 3 days ago:
The Golden Flash running back room also features freshman Gavin Garcia, red shirt junior Bryan Bradford, and graduate Xavier Williams. “X” has missed the entirety of the season due to injury but the group has still maintained its status of being one of the most effective units in the country over the last two seasons.

A very common occurrence now. Players look at where they stand in terms of likely future playing time.

Hopefully that's a sign that he believes none of the guys ahead of him will be gone.

Could be, but who really knows? Players transfer so often now, and especially so since they have the one "free" transfer. He has to figure Cooper, Bradford and Garcia are all ahead of him. It will be interesting to see how the QB depth chart shakes out behind Schlee.

I'm afraid I too abandoned the game for basketball, but was thrilled when it went OT. Kudos to Coach and especially the OL for sticking with it and grinding out a win. There's little doubt past KSU teams would have folded. I had forgotten about Xavier - boy he provided explosive plays the last couple of seasons and is a nice compliment to Cooper. I agree that Cooper has been a real treat yo watch. The loss of Cephas was tough and I'm wondering about Schlee's durability. We definitely need to get depth at several key positions.

The kicking game was a problem all season - what happened to the kid recruited from Strongsville who was blasting KOs out of the end zone in high school?

All and all sort of a disappointing season but lots of close games and tough schedule. OU was the big surprise but their QB is legit. We'll see if they can take down UT?

BTW saw on Hustle Belt that WMU fires Lester, never went worse than 4-4 in the MAC and a couple of bowls but no MACC. Seems tough to me, but I guess they have the $$$.
