Was the elbow to the face intentional? Asking for a friend.

The games on ESPN+ on demand ... why don't you watch it 07-coffee3

I'm not the one who made the claim. Either are you F-head.

I didn't make the claim it was intentional either. I said that's why she did what she did. It wasn't about race. It was about the elbow. Intentional or not.

Stupid, unnecessary, ridiculous.

With that said, hopefully charge gets dropped. That was a minor bop/jab and nothing more. Player will learn her lesson regardless of the charge.

Surprised this is national news. I was expecting a complete haymaker by everyone’s reaction going into the video lol.

You miss the point. Totally! If the one girl elbowed her unintentionally, that doesn't give the other girl the right to intentionally assualt her. one was an accident that happens in sports all the time. The other is a premeditated assault!

How does that go over anyone's head? When are we going to stop excusing human beings of bad behavior?

Let's stop the handshake line. Great solution. Sportsmanship creates hostility and no longer belongs in sports.

No, what they should do is kick her sorry ass off the team, and let her sit in jail for a few days. That'll get her mind right.

Kicking her off the team is irrelevant, since she is a fifth year senior, and the coaching staff is gone now.

Good for them. They get to go out in a blaze of glory. I hope the coach got a big raise and hires 'punchy' as an assistant.

I agree with you. That was just terrible. Maybe they should just do the Covid wave and keep everyone separated. I hope the charges aren’t dropped. She needs to face the consequences of her actions. Totally unacceptable!

Still mad at your QB for leaving your RB out to dry I see?

Great football play by our safety. Reminded me of Ed Reed, Sean Taylor, Brian Dawkins type of play!

Shut it down. Fire them all.

Perhaps you won't have to.

Rumor is the coach is being named as UC's new WBB coach tomorrow.

Cincinnati announced her hire today. Didn't know she played here.

Memphis announced it yesterday. I don't think a lot of our fans knew it, either.

A minor bop? The BGSU player dropped to the floor and ended up with a swollen eye. Not a shove. Not a grab. Not curses. A punch to the face/head was thrown. The charges should NOT BE dropped. This is unacceptable. I can only imagine if the skin color was changed of the person hitting and the one receiving the punch how this would make national news/racist outrage. That issue aside, sucker punching someone in the face is assault regardless and without prejudice. Lesson for myself. Stay out of women’s sports.

The bop was a horrible throwing motion to inflict damage. Race has nothing to do with my interpretation but I didn’t take females into my original thought on the post.

There was no leverage in the punch/bob/doink whatsoever. It was a right arm swinging from left side of the body. Black eyes happen easy if landed in correct area.

Either way stupid, unnecessary, and shouldn’t have happened. No doubt about it. Assault charge seems a bit strong to me, but 100% deserves to live with whatever the consequences are of such action.

If I was BG player and had a say in it, I’d ask for it to be dropped but then again I’m not a female and also never played D1 college sports.

It seems the charges (which I agree with) are because this happened after the game. Athletes need to start being held accountable for their actions.

B/c a women's basketball player punched somebody? 03-lmfao

I mean, that's horrible, and she should pay legally for what she did, but what else exactly is an issue with Memphis?

The men's basketball team just went through an entire season with zero drama, and the football team never has drama.

All teams are in good to great academic standing. Not another issue anywhere I'm aware of.

WTH are you talking about? It's not like the football team covered up serial rape, or a murder (Baylor), sheltered a child molester for decades (Penn State), ran scam courses for decades (UNC), or more recently, had a player bring a gun to a murder, and did ZERO to him (Alabama).

And not a damn thing happened to any of them.

Get outta here with that weak sauce.

clt says you seem to forget the water bottle incident

Bossman says here is video of clt giving his opinion.

Bump!

AAC WBB 22-23 = Memphis, Bowling Green, UConn, Loovl
UConn got knocked out* last night, failed to make the Elite 8.
5. Loovl up very early on 2. Iowa for a final 4 spot.

LSU blocked Miami’s shot at doubling up on Men/Women final four.

Bowling Green (remember Bowling Green?) goes up against Florida tomorrow in the NIT Quarters.

*”knocked out”, here = eliminated from the tournament.

I'm not the one who made the claim. Either are you F-head.

I didn't make the claim it was intentional either. I said that's why she did what she did. It wasn't about race. It was about the elbow. Intentional or not.

You miss the point. Totally! If the one girl elbowed her unintentionally, that doesn't give the other girl the right to intentionally assualt her. one was an accident that happens in sports all the time. The other is a premeditated assault!

No, what they should do is kick her sorry ass off the team, and let her sit in jail for a few days. That'll get her mind right.

You must be smoking the good stuff!! Who said anything about it being ok to retaliate? I definitely didn't. She should have assault charges against her. The only thing I ever said was it wasn't about race as some earlier in this thread started saying it was. It had nothing to do with race but the girl getting butthurt because she caught an elbow earlier in the game.
