Kent State @ College of Charleston
Let me start with this. I remember this game very well. For whatever reason I was watching and pulling for C of C....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRD6A1g3djs

The Golden Flashes begin a tough stretch of games this evening at TD Arena in Charleston South Carolina. The College of Charleston Cougars are the first of several quality opponents that Kent State will face during the Holiday Season.

The C of C Cougars are 5-1 with wins over Chattanooga, Richmond, Davidson, Virginia Tech and Colorado State. Their lone blunder was a 16 point loss to North Carolina (the Tar Heels not the A&T version). Charleston has three starters and two reserves who average double digit points. Leading the offensive charge is 6'2 sophomore guard Reyne Smith. The product of Ulverstone Australia scored 24 against Chattanooga and 29 against Richmond.

One team statistic that sticks out to me is that the Cougars turn it over. Sure, they have played good opponents, but the -13 Assist/TO is something that the Flashes should look to exploit.

I have become a big fan on analytics this season. So here is what I think KSU needs to do to be in position to win this roadie:

*Bring their defense to TD Arena
*Value Possessions
*Rebound that Basketball!!

Add a big night from Sincere Carry and who knows, maybe this is the start of something good.

GO FLASHES!

This is a good team we’re facing and on their floor this will be a tough challenge. They are #7 in the Mid-Major top 25 at College Insider. We are #4, Toledo (until next week after their bad losses) is #5.

Also of note, Sincere Carry is on the Lute Olsen Player of the Year Watch List. He’s the only MAC player on it.

And of interest, Toledo plays NKU this morning for last place in their holiday tourney. Both the Toledo game and our game are only watchable on FloHoops, whose cheapest option is a one month subscription for $30. You’d think they’d make more money if they had some single game options as well. Folks aren’t going to pony up $30 to watch one game.

Same for me. I watched CofC vs VA Tech. This is a very good team. They do not give up and they play hard. Yes, look for a close game. Looking for Gio being invaluable in this game.

If they think people will spend $30 to stream one game they should remember a ticket to attend one of our game is less than $30 then look at our attendance.

If flo basketball is like flo wrestling it’s for fanatics not for single games. The wrestling site is 12.50 per month but you have to pay $300 and buy the whole year. It covers all levels of wrestling and produces a lot of its own content. In other words they don’t care to attract single game/meet customers.

Go to CAAsports.com, they have a link for $15 discount. Also if you have a school email you can get it for just $7.99.

Fouls are 11-6 at half.
Foul SHOTS are 15-2 which is ridiculous.
I am watching game on Flo Sports free on my phone but
Screen is small will not enlarge. We have
been very aggressive. Rico Gillespie looks really
good playing well
Hornbeak has 3 fouls
Santiago and Thomas 2

Turnovers 9 Kent. 11 Charleston at half

RE: Kent State @ College of Charleston
When you're a team whose identity is aggressive defense you'll occasionally have a game where the refs don't like it and the foul numbers are lopsided.
