Good for Kansas! Hope they can keep Leipold, they were the feel good story of this season and it would be great to see what he can do in Lawrence with a few years to work.

Great move by Kansas. I don't know the new contract extension info , but him making only 3 mill a year on his present contract has to be increased. Starting over with a new coach would not have bode well for the football program.

On second thought, football is not a priority.

Smart move. I have no doubt Nebraska and others were on the prowl - Kansas needed to stake their claim before the season ended.

True, though the program is in a much better condition now than a few seasons ago. If Leipold left they'd be able to get a lot more interest since candidates wouldn't have to rebuild the program completely. Regardless, good move by him to sign an extension because KU is one of the few places in college football that's overshadowed enough by basketball that expectations will never get totally out of whack.
