I understand why. I just hope they are letting the players make the call and not the administration.

Yes, I understand this on one hand, but not on the other. There is a strong lesson in life that life goes on when we suffer losses. Last week's cancellation was essential I believe. This week's cancelation I'm not so sure. Instead of re-establishing normalcy for those who remain, they leave this to linger all through the Spring and into next season. The message these kids need now is, "Life goes on, with you." Last week was time to remember, grieve, and recognize the tragic loss of life. This week perhaps should have been we value all of you, this game is about you.

I wonder if it being an away game had anything to do with it. I think Virginia Tech would have played the elegant host and fellow Virginians would have stood side by side in solidarity vs senseless violence.

If any school could have empathy with UVa it would be the Virginia Tech community.
I tend to agree that after last weeks grieving, the message this week should have been persevere. It's the only choice we have.
The Virginia Tech folks demonstrated that so well during the memorial service for their slain students when the "Let's Go"............"Hokies" cheer erupted.

The students aren't feeling it. It's a good call. Everyone can relate.
The Virginia Tech community more than most, I expect.

A while back, at a memorial service, I heard a message that has stuck with me ever since. There is no right way or wrong way to grieve. Each of us has, and must have, his /her own way. I can't find it in me to judge the way of others when they are grieving. All I can say is I am grieving with you.

Grief keeps its own schedule, yes. Grief decides when it's done with you, not vice versa.
